The Spotlight on citizenM Menlo Park

Modern Vibes Just Minutes from the Music

Stylish, high-tech, and refreshingly laid-back, citizenM Menlo Park is a 4-star hotel located just 8.3 miles from Shoreline Amphitheatre. Set in the heart of Menlo Park's innovative Meta campus, this hotel brings a bold, urban vibe to Silicon Valley with smart-room tech, sleek design, and a welcoming social lounge. With free parking, fast WiFi, and a cool on-site restaurant and bar, it's a smart pick for concert-goers who want comfort without the fuss.

Why Concert-goers love it

The location is a major win—close enough to the amphitheatre for a quick ride-share, yet far enough to enjoy a quiet night's sleep after the encore. With 24-hour front desk service and self check-in via app or kiosk, you can roll in late and still get settled with ease. Free private parking is a rare bonus, especially for those driving to the show. The relaxed, modern vibe makes it easy to come down after a high-energy night.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want stylish shared spaces to hang out before and after the show
  • Solo travelers chasing a bucket-list tour stop
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of it
  • Fans looking for a restful, modern room to recover in peace
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want upscale touches

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and bar offer late-night dining and great drinks, perfect for a post-show bite. While there's no 24/7 room service, the smart-room setup lets you order food and drinks from your in-room iPad. The buffet, continental, and vegetarian breakfast options are a welcome treat after a night out—and yes, they're served late enough to sleep in a bit.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, its stylish bar is a great place to start (or end) your night. You're also a short ride away from Palo Alto’s downtown scene, with craft cocktail lounges, low-key bars, and late-night eateries to explore if you're not quite ready to call it a night.

What People Say

Guests rave about the cleanliness, modern tech features, and the chill atmosphere. The iPad-controlled lighting and entertainment win points with tech-savvy travelers, and the staff are frequently praised for being friendly and helpful. Many appreciate the free parking and how close the hotel is to major venues without being hectic.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are compact, so if you're bringing a lot of gear or staying with a group, storage can be a tight squeeze. There's also no pool or spa—this place is more about sleek efficiency than resort-style amenities.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to a nearby concert and want a stylish, tech-forward hotel with easy access and comfy vibes, citizenM Menlo Park hits the right note.

Exceeded my expectations, very happy...

Liked: Modern, clean, quiet.
Disliked: Maybe some healthier breakfast options, like oatmeal would be good.

Good price and location; rooms...

Liked: The location was great. We didn't eat breakfast there.
Disliked: The room was very small, and the bed was challenging for two people, as the inside person had to climb over the outside person. But it was a really comfortable bed! The room had no space for hanging out other than in bed, but on the other hand, the lobby/living room/outside areas were very comfortable. We had to "learn" how to stay in the hotel--it's not traditional, but it does work.

Only suitable if you are...

Liked: Everything was super clean and high-tech, everything (TV, light, cooling, etc.) was controlled through an iPad.
Disliked: The rooms are really small (almost the size of the first-class suite on the plane). My husband canceled at the last minute, so I traveled alone, if he came with me, the room would be too small for both of us. It is right at Meta's Menlo Park campus, so it was very convenient for my visit to Meta. The staff was really nice, but with the price that they were charging and the size of the room, it was not worth it if you are not in the Bay Area to attend/work at the Meta Menlo Park campus. There was no space to open the iron stand in the room (it was that small), so they had a separate iron room where you could go and press your clothes.
