The Spotlight on citizenM Glasgow

Smart, Stylish, and Steps from the Stage

Modern and funky, citizenM Glasgow offers a bold, tech-savvy stay in the heart of the city. Just a short stroll from Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall and Buchanan Galleries, this hotel blends comfort with cutting-edge convenience. With sleek, high-tech rooms, a 24-hour canteen, and an artsy lounge that feels more like a creative hub than a hotel lobby, it's tailor-made for music fans with a taste for style.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just four minutes on foot from the Royal Concert Hall, and less than 10 from Glasgow Central Station — ideal if you’re catching a late gig or arriving by train. Soundproofed rooms and blackout blinds mean you can sleep in after a late night, while check-in from 2pm gives you time to freshen up before the show. With Chromecast-enabled TVs and app-controlled lighting and climate, your room is your personal post-show sanctuary.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want a stylish base near the action
  • Solo travelers catching their dream show
  • Couples making a weekend of it
  • Fans who want a quiet, comfy space to crash
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who don’t want to compromise on style

Food and Drink Options

CanteenM is open 24/7 for snacks, meals, and drinks — ideal for post-gig cravings. Whether it’s a late-night bite or a full breakfast buffet with local treats and vegan options, you’ll find something to suit your schedule. Plus, the cocktail bar and nearby restaurants give you plenty of pre-show dining choices.

Nightlife Options

While citizenM doesn’t host live music on-site, the buzzing lobby bar is a great spot to start your night with a local craft cocktail. Within a short walk, you’ll find some of Glasgow’s best pubs, bars, and late-night lounges to keep the party going after the encore.

What People Say

Guests love the modern design, in-room tech, and the hotel’s unbeatable location near concert venues. The staff get top marks for friendliness, and the atmosphere is often described as fun, fresh, and welcoming. The beds are especially praised for comfort — perfect after a night of dancing.

Areas for Improvement

The rooms are on the cozy side, so if you’re traveling with lots of luggage, pack smart. Some guests mention that the self-check-in kiosks can take a moment to get used to, but staff are always nearby to help.

The Bottom Line

A top pick for concert-goers who want convenience, comfort, and cool vibes — all just minutes from the music.

Really wished we could've stayed longer; excellent hotel with great staff and a really good atmosphere.

Over all this was a complete disappointment. The rooms, with mood lighting in shower were the smallest I have ever been offered in a hotel.A square bed sits at one end abutting all the walls, resembling a caravanThe noise from the room above was considerable. Why do you have to have to book yourself in and out when everyone has to be shown what to do? Never stay here again even if offered free.

Liked: lovely lounge areas
Disliked: dreadful rooms

Good for the price!

Liked: Modern and quirky. Easy check in and check out, all self service. Rooms were clean and had all toiletries. Good hairdryer (which you don’t always get in a hotel)
Disliked: Room was stuffy and hot, did have a slight smell. Assuming this is due to the window now being able to be opened. Shower curtain also smelt like damp when the shower was first used.

Excellent modern hotel, perfect for...

Liked: The location is fantastic, right in the city centre and easy walking distance to attractions and transport. The room was modern, comfortable, and well-designed with a great bed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It felt like the best experience for a solo traveller I've had. The public WiFi was exceptionally fast and reliable. The breakfast in the morning was also excellent, with a great variety.
Disliked: The constant low hum from the bathroom fan at night was a minor annoyance. While there are no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room, you can easily pop downstairs to the restaurant to order drinks and bring them back up, which was a convenient alternative.

First time visitor, will be...

Liked: Loved the location and the check in and out were so hassle free. The staff were friendly and welcoming and happy to answer questions I had about the facilities.
Disliked: The only issue I had was the air-con. I wish there was an option to use it as it got a bit stuffy without any big airflow. And I like a fan at night. But other than that it was great.
