Insect infested rooms and rude...
Liked: Location is beautiful.
Disliked: After check-in we opened the door to our log cabin finding the air thick with mosquitoes. As we sat on the bed taking in the conditions each of our party began swatting mosquitos away. It was more than the few mosquitos that came through the door with us. Daylight was visible in places through the walls where the chinking between the logs had receded. It was clear that more mosquitoes would be coming in as they sensed our presence, making the cabin uninhabitable. For context, our party had been cycling on the Kettle Valley Railway for the prior three days. We were familiar with rugged conditions and mosquitoes associated with early June. I visited Chute Lake Lodge the previous summer and liked its rustic quality. However, we booked a cabin specifically to get away from the bugs at this time of year.I complained to the front desk, stated our intention to leave, and requested a full refund which I felt was fair given the state of our cabin. The staff member refused. I stated I would complain through an online review like this one. The staff member called the manager. The manager stated all rooms are this way at this time of year and that's what their clients should expect. I reiterated my dissatisfaction with the accommodation. I was taken aback when the manager asked me not to threaten their staff with a poor online review. They ordered me to leave the premises immediately or be escorted out. I found their reaction to be very disproportionate, rude and disappointing. I recommend anyone considering staying at Chute Lake to look elsewhere along the trail.

We loved Chute Lake Lodge...
Liked: Chute Lake Lodge is a very special place. It's close enough to Naramata that you can still enjoy the wineries and all that the Okanagan has to offer, but it feels very remote once you're high up at Chute Lake. The location is beautiful. The cabins are cute, comfy and charmingly rustic. I was worried about the fact that the washroom is in a separate building, but it was no problem at all, just a few steps, and well lit at night. Some of the bigger cabins have their own washroom, but we didn't find it was necessary. There's also a good restaurant there, which is really convenient. You can rough it if you want to, or you can have a bit of luxury.
Disliked: There wasn't much we didn't like! Perhaps the kitchen could have been stocked a bit better. We had table settings for 2, but only one spoon. No biggie.

Heaven, calming, warm and welcoming,...
Liked: The food, while on the pricier side IS TOTALLY WORTH IT! The cabin i stayed in (The Lorna) was extremely comfortable and well equipped! I was alone for a week and the staff here were so welcoming and friendly! The Chute Lake area is serene and quiet (aside from ATVs used by people passing through and staff using them) which was relaxing. I was lucky and got to enjoy cold morning and cool days and cold nights! Highly recommend this to friends, family, and strangers!
Disliked: only thing i didnt like was, nothing.

Bad
Disliked: The cabins are old and have graffiti’s inside. The steps leading to the cabin were crooked. The fridge and microwave were yellow. The portative burner were greasy. The toilets are outside and you need to walk around 100m to get there. There is no cellular coverage and the only WiFi is in the main building. The roads are in bad conditions to get there. Expect 10km of uphill gravel with potholes coming from the south. It’s supposed to be worst from the north according to the host. They didn’t want to reimburse my second night saying they are too busy in summer but all camping were empty and a lot of cabins were empty too. I would not recommend.
