Passable
Liked: Beautiful location- excellent view from the room
Disliked: Struggled to get into the building - lots of steps leading to the reception- one guest was disabled - no help to get bags to the room we struggled no signs - Sofas in room badly stained - dusty room - breakfast came but half of the order was missing- I had requested soya milk and glutton free food - didn?t come - not enough tea bags in room - I had tried to contact the hotel directly to give my feedback without a response - at £264 for the night I expected much more

A great place to stay...
Liked: The staff made us feel as though we were the most valued customers that they had had the pleasure to meet. The castle itself is well appointed with fabulous views and soooo comfortable.
Disliked: Given Covid restrictions, it is difficult to say how it could be better.

Disappointing and not worth the...
Liked: The chateau looked great externally and was in a good location. Breakfast was excellent and the beds were fabulous.
Disliked: We stayed in the lodge which was a 2 bedroom gatehouse away from the main building. It was very draughty in the living room and there was no carpet in that room which made it feel utilitarian and cold. There was also a scruffy worn coffee table well past its best. There was no phone to ring reception and many items on our room description were simply not there e.g. - Phone, kitchen , washing machine, safe, fireplace, coffee maker , wardrobe, dining table etc. Even worse, the cleaning was really poor and there were dusty dirty corners and cobwebs. There were also some light bulbs not working and the tap in the upstairs bathroom was very loose. So much for Covid extra cleaning! I reported my concerns to reception. The following morning, at checkout I was told they would refund £25.
Now this accommodation cost £254 per night and we were looking forward to something special and luxurious at this top end of the market price. We came away feeling that we could have had that standard for a good deal less.
The inside of the chateau did look very nice and I dont know what the bedrooms are like there. However, I couldn't recommend the lodge accommodation and felt that Chateau Rhianfa were punching well above their weight and charging too much for what we received.
There weren't even those little packets of biscuits which almost all hotels provide these days.
