Very good

Liked: Beautiful setting. Stayed in the lodge and still a great view
Disliked: Service for drinks etc in the general rooms, they could have been seeking us rather than people looking for them

Short comings mitigated by some...

Liked: Location and view. Lovely grounds.
Disliked: Very small room and no shower. Water barely warm serving the bath. Neither key worked on arrival. Wedding party took over hotel on final night. Sound proofing inadequate and much door slamming!

The stay was fabulous because...

Liked: Breakfast was amazing, loved the cooked breakfast, lovely butter! The staff were lovely and helpful
Disliked: So disappointed that the pipes in the room were heated so it was the same as having heating on which made the room too warm even with the windows wide open. When my husband mentioned this on checking out the receptionist said ah we need a fan in there. A fan would not have helped. This was supposed to be an upgrade where we paid £60 extra but would there have been hot pipes in the lodge we had originally booked?
