Lovely hotel with great views

Liked: We booked what they describe as a small cosy double, the room size was more than adequate, well furnished and very comfortable. We visited the indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which was also really nice.
Disliked: When we went to breakfast we were told that due to the room type we had booked we would only be entitled to continental breakfast - this wasn't a problem for us as we both prefer a continental breakfast, however there does seem to be an underlying theme to try to get you to book the more expensive rooms. Describing the room as a "cosy" double, only allowing a continental breakfast - I imagine there is someone in their marketing dept who thinks this is a good way of making extra income when really it just comes off as a bit underhand. I feel sorry for the staff who have to explain the breakfast situation to customers as it must make their job really difficult.

Disliked: Mmmm…the cooked breakfast was a bit underwhelming; the sausage was somewhat bland and the bacon was rather overdone, but maybe that’s just me.

Liked: Our first stay - and it was fabulous, what a lovely location!! Thank you for the upgrade - room with a little outside verandah ( how did you know how much that makes a difference to us, you must have a crystal ball!!) Was so much appreciated!! Moat staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Lovely outside areas, with beautiful views, very tranquil, an amazing jewel of a place -will definitely be back.
Disliked: Upon our arrival receptionist was not as helpful as expected- I had to inform her that we've never stayed here before so did not know which way was what - eg breakfast room, outside areas, spa and pool. But rest of the time the staff were all amazing.
