Chirnside Hall Hotel

Excellent and reliably traditional stay...

Liked: This is a lovely traditional country house hotel. I received a very warm welcome when I arrived and very attentive service throughout my stay. My room was exceptionally comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was very prettily presented and the evening meal was delicious. The garden and grounds are perfect for a short stroll or a quiet, contemplative seat with breathtaking views over the Cheviots.
Disliked: There is nothing to dislike.

Liked: The only staff member we met - who acted as receptionist, porter and waiter - was excellent.The breakfast was also freshly prepared and excellent.
Disliked: When we returned from our friends’ house between 9.30 and 10 pm we found all the downstairs reception rooms in darkness. Wanting a nightcap, we eventually found someone who served us 2 Armagnacs.
