You get what you pay for and this hotel was much less expensive than many others in downtown Chicago and had a parking lot with parking included. But the room had old nasty carpet and the walls were dinged up and peeling in places. The hairdryer nor exhaust fan nor vending machine worked. The room had a weird stale odor. Customer service was really good though. It wasn't terribly inconvenient to downtown and bed and pillows were comfortable!
Liked: Customer Service. Comfortable beds.
Disliked: Outdated. Room had an odor.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Chicago South Loop. This was my 3rd time staying there and I will stay there again. I even passed up staying at our host hotel.
Liked: Free parking; location; clean and friendly staff.
Disliked: Not enough parking - if you come back late you have to park on the street.

Great place to stay; very convenient location. If you're not interested in staying in the heart of the city, but want to be in a convenient location, this is a great option at a great price.
Liked: Convenient to highway; great parking; large, clean room; beds were comfortable.
Disliked: TV was satellite and since it stormed our entire stay, interrupted TV service.

Liked: Your getting exactly what your paying for from this hotel. A place to stay with all the basic necessities. Beds were comfy, and room was spacious which was nice because we had four people in the room staying for a festival and there was a lot of time to be cooped up in there. Bathroom was a little below par as far. Shower was a little dingy but overall clean. Location is fine if you’re not opposed to some walking (which we weren’t). Make sure you understand the location. We were about 10-15 minute walk from a Starbucks and mini mart which we walked too every morning. Also a 15 minute walk from the subway. No complaints for the cost versus location aspect. If you want to be submersed in the city I wouldn’t pick here. However transporation is so easy. My absolute favorite thing about the hotel was the lobby bathroom. I feel like not every hotel has one. But being cooped up with four people in a small room - it comes in handy.
Disliked: Least favorite thing was the elevators were scary. I don’t like them from the jump but one was out of service and the one I took one day was shaky. Needless to say I took the stairs to the 4th floor everyday. But I’m also a wuss.

Liked: The location.
Disliked: This was my 2nd time in a 2 month period, staying at the Chicago Loop Hotel . The elevator didn't work in July and was not working in August. ( I thought it would be fixed)We had to use the service elevator both times, which is a cramped space trying to get the luggage cart in. Our 1st room, the Air Conditioning, was not working, the 2nd room the television kept buffering every few minutes and the door would not lock. Now listen to this: If my mother hadn't said, make sure the door is locked. We wouldn't have known that the lock didn't secure. We were moved once more. Note: No air conditioning #1 , no TV, and no door lock in #2. We are now in #3 unpack and get settled, and the TV in room #3 is buffering and never did work. We had no TV on August 7th, 8th, & the 9th we checked out on the 10th. This is 2025, and it was like we were in a hotel from Hell. No elevator, no door lock & no TV. They offered to move us again at 10:30 @ night but by now my mother did not want to move again. We spent our 1st day moving to 3 different places. This was time-consuming and ruined our 1st day planned. The manager (Martha) said that she would compensate us for a 1 day refund for the inconvenience . Note: this conversation was over the telephone she was not on the premises.) We haven't received any refunds and can't get a hold of (Martha). Ms. Martha is supposed to be the manager. She is never on the premises. This hotel stey was pre-paid in full, and this was very poor service from the Chicago Loop Hotel on 26th Street. My mother is in her 80s, and we were here for her sisters funeral, and she had to experience such service. DISAPPOINTED
