Disliked: The view from room which was supposed to be a garden view, was of flat roof withh building materials. There was also very noisy airconditioning plant on the roof of our hotel which was noisy.

Liked: Our travel planner Sadie found this gem of a hotel for us in Porto and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have stayed there. You’d be very hard pressed to find a hotel with such friendly and helpful staff.The hotel is in a perfect location, just a tiny bit north of all the action, but far enough away that it feels like your in a local’s area with all kinds of great restaurants, bars, etc. nearby.It’s a very contemporary hotel with a really imaginative and fun interior and shows a nice amount of whimsy, but it’s also quite functional.I think we’ve all stayed in hotels that on the surface seem really interesting and fun, but one soon discovers that many things are awkward, impractical and downright annoying. This hotel pulls off all the good things about an edgy and interesting environment, but doesn’t give up the practical aspects of actually staying there.Our room was very well laid out and had a look and feel that required a lot of creativity that also made the space quite comfortable and functional.There is a large parking garage underneath and there’s no charge for parking.Every day we stayed there would be a super thoughtful surprise in our room when we returned in the afternoon. One afternoon it was the best carrot cake I've ever had. The next it was two glasses of very high-quality port along with two outstanding pastries. The staff helped me with so many things beyond restaurant recommendations. Just one example is Nuno came down to the parking area in the basement and programed my rental car (it was in Portuguese and I don't remotely speak the language!), so I could connect my phone via Bluetooth so I could finally hear verbal directions on Google maps through the speakers in the car. All the staff were great in every way I’d like to extend a special thank you to Maria, Juliana, Nuno and Jose for everything they did to make our stay a wonderful experience!

Disliked: No flexibility about check in time.

Great value and quirky

Liked: From arrival until departure we were looked after by wonderful staff who went out of the their way to make sure everything was ok. Room was upgraded to keep away from street noise -because Portugal won the football. Some great little bars in the area too. On site parking was brilliant. Thank you.
