Chewton Glen Hotel is over-rated...

Liked: Comfortable hotel with nice grounds & bed was very comfortable. Very good breakfast served in restaurant too.
Disliked: Rooms were small for the money they charge, shower power was poor ( no bath) carpets were stained in bedroom which need thorough steam clean plus bedroom furniture old & scratched & was generally disappointed with whole mini break experience.

Great hotel, but understaffed and...

Liked: We loved the beautiful Tree house and the grounds
Disliked: It takes a long time to get anyone to answer the phone, whether it is reception or room service. The staff are very willing but they appear to be understaffed. The food is mediocre at best and I would have expected a lot better from a five-star hotel

Lovely overnight break

Liked: The location and surroundings were fabulousAll the staff were really friendly and helpfulThe gym was goodThe breakfast was excellent with such a wide variety on offer
Disliked: There could do with being some plug sockets near the bed that aren't used by kettles and coffee makers. There also isn't much shelf space in the bathroom for washbags and toiletries. Having a better mirror next to a usable plug socket, too, would be handy when drying hair, rather than having to work around the coffee maker and kettle!
