Just about passable, due the...

Liked: Lovely location Needs renovation Breakfast was amazing Staff were helpful, but it’s was full
Disliked: Old tired, needs a complete overhaul in the log cabin area I would recommend it as for £187 for one night is far too expensive for the 1star I would rate it atThe first cabin had a faulty door lock and it was right next to the refuse area

Without the well planned wedding...

Liked: Location
Disliked: Broken garden furniture everywhere. Room dark and dated and cleanliness only just passable, previous days plates glasses cups and full ashtrays all around.

Overnight wedding guest stay ....

Liked: Lovely lodge rooms close to a lake so beautiful view
Disliked: The price for 1 overnight stay was quite high for the short time the room was available. Also no late breakfast time slot in a Sunday

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Disappointed, poorly maintained and badly...

Liked: Location. Good for access to Harrogate and Ilkley. Great setting in the woods. Walks could have been better signposted.
Disliked: The property is run down. Bathrooms require refurbishing. We had to move rooms as the shower riser was loose, bathroom dirty and soundproofing between neighbours was poor. Second room was not much better. Breakfast service was laughable. The waitress kept getting the orders wrong or delivering food to the wrong tables.

An experience that we won't...

Liked: Good location and beautiful setting.Staff at reception were very welcoming.
Disliked: For a bit more comfort I opted for a cabin. From the photos they looked very inviting. The only word to describe our experience was grim. The cabin was actually a tiny room. the space was cramped and very down at heel. The cabin was subdivided into 2 sections and there was no soundproofing between the 2. The bed was not comfortable and not as advertised. we did opt for the breakfast which was really below par. The coffee was disgusting. The facilities in the restaurant were like a one star motel. To cap it all the floor was tacky and sticky. Disgusting. If they can't wash the floor.....

Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Very good

Liked: Restaurant overlooked large pond. Lodges were interesting and well lit (unlike most hotel rooms) but some pathways were uneven and problematic after dark for elderly individuals. Quite likely to return some day for a longer stay as the swimming pool and recreation area were appealing but we didn't have time to use them.
Disliked: See above

We would love to return...

Liked: The accommodation, hotel, receptionist were lovely. My dogs loved it.
Disliked: We booked the pool, only 1 hot tub working for about 20 people, locker didn’t open, dinner was an absolute joke, one dish a starter of pork belly described with raisin slaw, ginger and chilli had no raisin slaw, ginger or chilli, a mushroom was served with the steak which was a hard as a bottle top and charcoal. The tiramisu choux was a great idea but lacked anything of of a tiramisu it was just a choux bun filled with cream and cheap chocolate bottled sauce, I wanted a certain bottle of fizz, the hotels choice on the menu, not available so I got brought 3 bottles of Tattinger, I kept saying I don’t want Tattinger but the lady on the bar just didn’t get it, eventually after 20 minutes I got a bottle of pink Prosecco, my second bottle was warm!!!! Sadly just lacking skill, care and attention. Also our bed linen had cigarette burns in it.
