Short spar break and local...

Liked: Short break for my birthday. We visited York and the second day Harrogate including Harlow Carr RHS.
Disliked: The walls are very thin in the log cabins so you can hear your neighbours.

Passable

Liked: Main building was lovely for the wedding reception we attended.
Disliked: Woodland Lodge was shabby, dated and basic. Hot water took a while to come through. Outdoor area around the lodge was overgrown and untidy.

Lovely stay, but not 100%...

Liked: The peaceful location of the lodges. Perfect for a relaxing break. Watching squirrels play right outside your door was perfect.
Disliked: Paying £20 to take our four-legged friend, but being made to feel segregated and isolated when dining. The areas for guests with dogs, were either in the small bar area, where tables were not set for dining, upstairs above the restaurant where no one else was sat ( this was also closed for cleaning when we enquired about other options at breakfast) or the lounge/snug ( which had a wedding party in the first night, so was un available and on the second night, was again empty) The restaurant area was busy and had atmosphere, yet we were unable to sit in there, as we had our very well behaved dog statying with us. I can't understand the logic as the restaurant was a flagged floor, and the areas we were told we could use with a dog were carpeted? Because we were sat in an area not used by most guests who were eating, it was very apparent on the first night that we had been forgotten, our food took a very long time to arrive, and was luke warm.

Shared lodges with other people!...

Liked: Hot tub was lovely! Staff were nice
Disliked: Firstly we booked a 2 bed lodge with a hot tub unbeknown to myself the lodges are actually divided into 2 so we could hear the couple next to us who weren’t even noisey but we heard everything from the toilet to just talking. The outdoor area had empty bottles of Prosecco on the grass, covered in bird poo. The table on the decking was metal but rusted and we actually cut ourselves on it. You can hear Leeds airport so loud planes setting off and landing just bare this in mind. Overall I wouldn’t recommend at all. Place is dirty, you share a lodge. Expensive for what it is and it’s not even nice. Better places out there
