Birthday treat

Liked: Good hotel, right next to park, great facilities.
Disliked: Restaurants on site are rather expensive, and food quality isn't to the standard of the price

Wonderful staff who really worked...

Liked: The location right on site at Chessington world of Adventures, the parking (free for guests of the hotel), the splash pad and swimming pool, the cute treasure hunt in our safari room, the theme of our giraffe room, the amazing staff
Disliked: The air conditioning was poor…combined with the lack of fully opening windows made for a very sleepless night (despite my having brought my own fan as a precaution)…even though it was very hot weather, the air conditioning should have worked better than this and I say that as someone who lived in Bangkok for decades and where there are no problems with air-con despite the average temperature being permanently in the mid to high 30s. There should always be the option of having the windows unlocked on request…the majority of people in uk do NOT live in bungalows and yet children are not constantly falling out of upstairs windows, are they? So on request, the windows should be unlocked. The room was a bit dark and slightly shabby. The pillows could have done with including a soft one so that all preferences are catered for. The staff managed to lose our medical ice packs which had been stored in the hotel freezers overnight. They were eventually located in an empty ice cream tub. This meant we missed the early hour entry to the theme park. Not good. Need to improve procedures there and give guests a receipt for medical ice packs in storage. However, we still enjoyed our stay very much and will come again!

Pleasant

Liked: Big room. Great view of zoo from foyer. Free parking next to theme park. Free breakfast.
Disliked: Constant noise during the evening. Kids running round above us and in corridor next to our room. Was given a connecting room and could here absolutely everything from next door. No soundproofing whatsoever. Breakfast was OK but no hot drinks machine and all seemed a bit chaotic.

Staff great, room extremely poir

Liked: Great location and staff were pleasant
Disliked: Upon check in our rooms bathroom door had no handle mechanism. We noticed it when entering the room but before we could report it to reception our two youngest children 1 and 8 went into the bathroom and shut the door. In a panic we ran to the reception as the door couldn’t be opened. The staff were quick to respond and within 5/10 mins they were free. Really disappointing that the room was prepared before our arrival and this wasn’t fixed or noticed. This could have been extremely dangerous and left us questioning if we would stay here again.
