This was a disappointing stay.
Disliked: This was a disappointing stay. Having stayed previously and enjoyed ourselves, this time the room felt quite run down. The bath plug didn’t work correctly and therefore the water drained away whilst in the bath. The bed was lumpy, the room was too hot and the air-con wouldn’t adjust to cool it down.This was mentioned at reception during check-out and no apology was made. The lady wrote it down and that was that.

Superb
Liked: + room size, decor, and comfort+ Spa facilities + Excellent breakfast+ Luxury feel of the entire hotel
Disliked: - it would be great if dinner at the restaurant could be booked from 6 rather than 7 onwards, as 7 is quite late for families with children. Yes, you can order at the bar - but - by it's very nature the bar can be very loud and (obviously) full of people drinking, being loud and liberal with their language (as they have every right to be in a bar!) - not ideal when dining with children.

Very nice hotel with great...
Liked: My room was extremely spacious, comfortable beds, plenty of pillows and linens. The hotel was very large and clean with good facilities and a number of places to eat on site.
Disliked: The bath in the room had a thick tiled area around it which made stepping out of it very difficult for anyone with short legs. It was an odd design choice and not particularly safe because of the chance of slipping when trying to put your foot on the floor.

Incompetent accounts dept-beware!
Liked: Good spa treatment with Jas. Location on good road network made trips out easy. Recently refurbished room ok.
Disliked: Nightmare finance dept. Although I had authorised, via Booking.com, the full payment weeks in advance I was puzzled by it not being taken. Suddenly, 2 days before going, I had my payment card cancelled and urgent calls/texts from my bank who suspected a fraud by this hotel. It turned out the hotel had tried to take the wrong amount without authorisation. I wasted much of a day on the phone to both the hotel and bank to get to the bottom of the error by the hotel and to get my card reinstated. Although the hotel did then take the correct payment there was no apology or gesture to recognise my wasted time (a room upgrade or something?) I had never visited this hotel before and it makes me wonder if Q Hotels are a safe chain to visit here or anywhere else.

Passable
Liked: Lovely hotel, very clean and the service was excellent! Friendly staff and the food was fabulous
Disliked: Not kid friendly, we were told at reception that because we were guests we could bring our kids to the pool! But when we went down to pool we were told it was adult only and to come back later, which didn't suit us as we were going to an event! We had picked this hotel for the pool. Very disappointed.
