Chequers Inn Hotel

The Chequers is ideally located for the South of England Showground. However, despite being competitively priced, it needs to up it's game. The rooms are a good size but they were quite dirty. Uncovered quilts were stuffed under beds on an unvacuumed carpet.

Liked: Tiffany the receptionist was extremely helpful.
Disliked: The room was dirty!

Disliked: There nothing yo like. Mouldy bathroom I'm sure it's illegal to rent mouldy apartments. The staff was unprofessional. I have asked for the 3 towels becouse there was only one set of towels for 3 people. The girl was flirting with the boys at the bar and promised to give us more towels at the end of her shift. It sounded like I'm disturbing her flirting and what I asked is not her job at all. I believe she forgot about it at the end of our conversation. 😁😁 Kettle wasn't working.

Perfect place to stay when...

Disliked: A larger towel would have been nice.

Had everything we needed

Liked: Large clean room, it was basic but had everything we needed and located right in the centre of town
Disliked: The shower was broken and you could hear other guests walking around their rooms

Exceptional

A nice inn within a...

Liked: The inn was ideally placed for my leisure purposes, but the village historic buildings (including the inn) made the trip. the atmosphere at the in with the locals was just wonderful and I became part of the group. Really enjoyed it. The room was as expected with a large and comfortable bed.
Disliked: With the changing of the management, there was no food available, I should have taken the advice of the staff and gone to the local restaurant; but chose the chip shop (warning they can't produce chips like we have in the North). It was a shame there was no food.

Clean but ancient mustard colour...

Liked: There was no breakfast, kitchen closed and no chef!
Disliked: Restaurant should be open, advertised breakfast but haven't done breakfast for 5 years! Kitchen closed bar only open when they felt like it.
