Lovely overnight stay in a...
Liked: Just got home from a wonderful stay at Chequer Cottage in Horseheath. We travel a lot and this is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. Debbie and Dave were there to greet us on the driveway as we arrived and were very warm and friendly from the off, giving us advice on local things to do and places to eat nearby. The room itself is seperate to the house above the garage and overlooks the stunning garden which was very cosy inside, lots of coffee and tea options, a spacious bathroom and also lots of added extras such as homemade cookies, a carafe of port, gin and chocolates which went down well and were lovely touches. The bed and pillows were very comfortable for a peaceful nights sleep as the village itself is quaint and quiet- it's worth a wander down the street to see all the thatched roofs and pretty gardens including Chequer Cottage. We both loved the welcome pack in the drawer under the coffee station giving the history of the building and the village of Horseheath itself, well worth a read. The next morning we went down for breakfast which included a strawberry compote, Cereals, toast, croissants, tea, coffee, orange juice and a cooked breakfast of your choice which was delicious. We spent 1 day at Duxford Airfield and 1 day in Cambridge, both only a 15-20 minute drive away and Horseheath was the perfect location for us.All in all, we couldn't fault our stay other than we wished we'd booked for longer. Will recommend to friends and family. Debbie and Dave were lovely hosts.Adam and Claire

A little bit of paradise
Liked: Very well-appointed room with welcoming treats, such homemade cake and a glass of port, excellent breakfast in a lovely cottage dining room, garden to sit in and Debbie and David were as friendly and welcoming as you could hope for. It is also in a beautiful hamlet, steeped in history, with lots of nice walks around.
Disliked: It's not a complaint, but the potential customers should be aware that the staircase to the room is quite steep and could be a problem for les mobile visitors. However, we managed it, and we are in our 70s with replacement hips, etc.
