Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Henry, St. George, visiting Toronto General Hospital Fri, 4 December 2015

Had we known, that since our trip to Toronto was to keep an early appointment at the hospital we could have had a reduced rate. We were disappointed that we were not informed. I also feel it should not have been neccessary to pay for our stay when we booked the room nearly two months ahead of time. What would we have done if we had had to cancel. No refund probably!

Perfect location; everything was accessible and in walking distance.

Liked: The room was fairly big, clean and updated.
Disliked: The room was too warm and we could not control the thermostat at all.

AMAZING! We even got an upgrade when we got there to a newer room, just because of a birthday. Also free parking! Very nice and clean.

HORRIBLE WIFI once again

Liked: everything except WIFI...WIFI service is terrible. Everything else was great.
Disliked: This was my 2nd weekend in a row staying at The Chelsea & once again terrible WIFI! I had problems connecting to WIFI last weekend and again this past weekend. Last weekend when I encountered WIFI troubles, I called down to front desk, however I was put on hold and waited several minutes before I hung up. Definately need to IMPROVE WIFI.

Exceptional

Liked: The staff were helpful and location was perfect.
Disliked: The room smelt like smoke but the hotel was strict with there policy and I didn't push the issue. It's just unfortunate that previous guests insist on breaking the rules.

I've stayed at better hotels...

Disliked: The heat in the room was very inconsistent. One minute you were roasting, so you open the door a crack, then the room is freezing, then the heat comes back on and you roast. The thermostat was set lower, but the heat just kept pumping out. Next, there was a loud banging noise coming from the exhaust fan in the bathroom whenever the fan was turned off. Made it hard to sleep. Not sure exactly what happened at 11 PM sat night, but the fire alarm went off, but we couldn't make out what they were trying to say over the pa system. They said it was just a false alarm, but when we were standing in the lobby, I could definitely smell something had been burnt.

Good

Liked: The staff were all very friendly and helpful
Disliked: The fire alarm went off for about an hour, and the elevators were shut off. We ordered room service and we were a little disappointed for what we paid. The pool and hot tub were too busy we didn?t have a chance to use them

Great hospitality and wonderful ambience!

Liked: I enjoyed the friendly staff, which is of primary importance to me. What I also liked was the location as well as the good food in the bar. Bo, the server was first class! I loved the option of room service or pick up. Thoroughly enjoyed my continental breakfast in bed.
Disliked: The only thing I didn't like was the bed clothes. A fluffier duvet and cotton sheets would have been a great improvement.

Waste of money.

Liked: The location was nice and convenient.
Disliked: The curtains were ripped and the shower curtains were stained bright yellow. As well as there being hair in the bathtub. The room didn?t look like it had been cleaned very well at all. There was an alarm that was going off for an hour at 11:30 at night and didn?t get anything to make up for this huge inconvenience. The hotel was loud and people were yelling down the hall at all hours of the night. The dining area smelt like straight garbage and the tables were dirty. Expected a lot more for the price. Asked for extra towels and never received them. I won?t be staying again as well as telling friends and family members to not stay here.

Convient and clean when stuck...

Liked: Bed was comfortable and room was clean
Disliked: Through no fault of yours the fire alarm went off at 11:15pm, scary when 2 floors were told to evacuate and I'm on the 24th floor and told to stay put. Didn't sleep well after that

Good

Disliked: I have a Dodge Ram 1500 standard 4 door truck. It does not fit in there garage parking. It will nip the GPS antenna off on the roof by 1 inch. They also did not have supplemental or valet parking available. I had to find public parking and carry luggage down street. That really really sucked.
