Beautiful location but disappointing room

Liked: Beautiful chateau and gardens. Lovely staff. Nice restaurant. We loved sitting in one of the public rooms before dinner and wandering the grounds. They were able to accommodate a food intolerance easily.
Disliked: Room overheated with water pipes running along the walls. Shower had a broken bracket so the shower head was at chest height and shower appeared to have mould around the base, with damp marks and cobwebs on the ceiling. For the price, this surprised and disappointed us.

Weekend at the chateau

Liked: Beautiful building with lots of architectural interest. Great location for visiting surrounding areas.
Disliked: A little understaffed in some areas e.g. it was difficult to be served at the bar and our room appeared to be one of the smaller ones and very warm!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable...

Liked: It’s a beautiful building with lots of nooks to discover. We had a standard room but even so the shower was in the turret and consisted of three showers…it was amazing!
Disliked: We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace overlooking the Menai strait, however there was a spotlight on the hotel that burnt your retinas! We ended up covering it with a magazine and crossed our fingers it didn’t set fire…also the bar is on the fourth floor and a lot of steps to climb for a drink to take out onto the terrace.

Superb

Liked: The room was big and very comfortable. The bathroom was very accessible. The castle is very quirky with lots of little knooks and crannies to explore. Sundowners on the balcony overlooking the Menai straights is hard to beat.

Overall I would stay again...

Liked: Our room view was amazing looking out at the grounds & at the sail boats on the water. Overall the chateau is just beautiful, amazing grounds & view.
Disliked: Our room wasn’t the cleanest, very dusty & flies & moths on windowsill. The breakfast wasn’t the best, very basic.
