A Real Sense of Community
Liked: The highlights:- Clean, comfortable and cozy room. It's a little dated, but that simply adds to the charm. The shower was impressive for the age of the property. - Location: This is a tricky one. Depends on who you are, really. It's at the very end of the touristy area, which makes it easy to walk to old town (12-15min), the strip (as I like to call it) up Rue Saint Jean, and a preferred locals spot about 7min away (Av. Cartier).- The little dinning room common area was a nice touch. One day it rained hard for 2-3hrs, so I just looked out the window, drank my tea and caught up on emails. - Roof top view. - Convenient store right downstairs.- Many different types of restaurants near by - some even Michelin level.
Disliked: It's not for everybody:- You'll need a phone. No one is here to check you in. Heck, you can't even get in without a code. The All-Virtual thing may be off-putting to some folks.- Location: It's an easy walk, but it's still a hike to Old Town. Again, it depends on what you're looking for. I really liked it.- The roof top deck could use some TLC. I'll take having one over not having one, but since it's there, maybe spruce it up a bit.- Takes you a little time to acclimate. Like I said, a code here, a code there, a sign here a sign there - fumbling your way around can feel like a bit much at first.

Exceptional
Liked: The room was so cozy and the bed was very comfortable. I also loved the modern bathroom. Air conditioning worked well. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the room was.. I was on the corner and there was very little noise from the street or other guests. Great location near lots of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants and a 10-15 min. walk to the convention center. Having a shared kitchen and common areas was a nice feature, although I didn't take advantage of them. The remote check in worked well.
Disliked: Just a caution. There is no elevator, and the narrow stairway made it a little bit difficult to maneuver heavy suitcases.

Charming hotel within walking distance...
Liked: Very quaint rooms and we had a lovely balcony to enjoy our evening drinks. Short walk to Cartier Avenue and the old town is literally on the same road. We used the parking at the back of the hotel for the car.
Disliked: No lift, but we knew about that in advance

Charming quiet boutique hotel not...
Liked: Rooms were lovely, building and rooftop were charming.
Disliked: Uneven narrow stairs made dragging luggage up difficult. Bathroom really tiny and cramped with sink outside of bathroom. A bit too long a walk from the Old city after walking hours inside old city.

We enjoyed our stay very...
Liked: Room Nr 10 (with whirlpool and private terrace) is perfect. Communication was totally easy and we very well looked after! Thank’s for the extra coffee!
Disliked: To find the room was not straight forward, but worked out fine in the end.

An enjoyable 10days in this...
Liked: Location was great. Great cafes nearby. Bus stop right outside the Auberge. Although we never saw the hosts, there was instant communication back whenever I texted them with a question.
