Been there three times before...

Liked: Full English breakfast highly recommended.
Disliked: Shower not the best. No mat for bathroom

Very disappointed. Just not what...

Liked: The staff was lovely. Breakfast also good. Tea and coffee plentiful in room.
Disliked: It was very basic. The bed was very uncomfortable, noisy and sloping. Door handle falling off. Curtain at window tied to rail. Gardens messy. It was more like a youth hostel than a hotel.Shower was the other side of a very short door you had to bend low to go through.

Very disappointing.

Liked: Breakfast basics were ok. Middling quality food items. Receptionist was helpful with very steep stairs & suitcase carrying.
Disliked: Run down & decidedly scruffy - interior & exterior.Beds uncomfortable. Pillows old, used & lumpy. Very small towels. Breakfast room very dark. Bar area seedy, no comfortable chairs - very unwelcoming space.

Was a wonderful break away...

Liked: Beautiful farmhouse with stunning gardens. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was great. But the best thing for me was the emphasis made of George Orwell’s experiences in Eastbourne.
Disliked: It’s definitely not a luxury destination. But in a way that’s a plus. I much prefer character over luxury.

Disliked: Duck when you enter shower as per sign. Not good if tall entry door might get you too.
