Cessnock Motel

More or less OK except...

Liked: Close to the motel area
Disliked: Air conditioning system was very annoying. Also hot water was not available readily either.

Good

Liked: Definitely value for money. Location is fairly close to the wineries and the Hunter Valley Gardens, the go-cart, shops and fast food chains. Surprisingly there was a separate room with a queen bed.
Disliked: There were barely any power outlets in the room, so thankful we brought a power board. The room looks slightly outdated, and the pipes and the aircon/heater were creaky and noisy. The room was dark, one light fixture was not working, and the rest were dim. I did ask for an extra towel, which they said they would deliver but never came. What disappointed me was that there was someone smoking directly outside our room, and the smoke was going inside our room which was not ideal for my son and me.

terrible

Disliked: I had a terrible experience. The hotel water was not hot, and after 40 minutes they moved me to another room. In the new room, the bathroom sink was not draining properly and was making noise. I reported this to the hotel, and they suggested moving me back to the same room where the hot water was not working. I requested a refund because the experience was terrible, but they did not return my money.

Disappointing

Liked: We were given alternative rooms from our booking. And they were of low standard. We will not stay there again

Convenient location

Liked: Bed was comfortable. Clean and spacious family room. Great water pressure in shower.
