The Spotlight on Century Plaza Hotel

All-Suite Comfort Steps from Vancouver’s Music Scene

Modern, spacious, and right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, the Century Plaza Hotel is an all-suite stay with comfort and convenience in mind. Each suite features a kitchen or kitchenette, plus handy extras like a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and 40" flat-screen TV—ideal for pre- and post-show downtime. With Robson Street’s shopping and Yaletown’s nightlife just a short stroll away, you're perfectly placed to enjoy the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert fans love how close this hotel is to Vancouver’s major venues—many are within walking distance or a quick cab ride away. Downtown nightlife and late-night eats are nearby, and thanks to the in-room kitchens, you can even whip up your own midnight snack. The suites are well-soundproofed, offering a quiet place to wind down after the show. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, giving you time to settle in, while the 11:00 AM check-out means you can sleep in a little after a late night.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want space to hang out between shows
  • Solo travelers checking off a dream concert
  • Couples planning a music-filled weekend getaway
  • Fans looking for a quiet, comfy place to recharge
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want value without sacrificing location

Food and Drink Options

The on-site CPrime – Modern Italian Steak & Wine Restaurant serves up elegant pre-show dinners or late bites with a full bar. For a more casual vibe, Beyond Coffee offers Italian brews and sweet treats perfect for a mid-morning pick-me-up after a night out. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, the suite setup means snacks and meals are always an option—just stock your fridge and you're set.

Nightlife Options

While there’s no live music on-site, you’re just minutes from some of Vancouver’s best bars, lounges, and concert venues. Whether you’re headed to a legendary club or want a low-key spot for drinks, Yaletown and the West End are both walkable. CPrime’s wine list also makes it a great choice for a relaxed nightcap.

What People Say

Guests rave about the spacious suites, central location, and friendly service. Many reviewers highlight how convenient it is for accessing nearby attractions and music venues. The in-room kitchens are a fan favorite, especially for longer stays or those coming in from out of town.

Areas for Improvement

While the hotel has charm, some guests mention that the decor in certain rooms could use a refresh. Also, since it’s a downtown location, parking can be pricey—something to keep in mind if you're driving in.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a spacious, well-located suite in downtown Vancouver that lets you enjoy the show and recharge in style, the Century Plaza Hotel hits all the right notes.

The hotel was beautiful and very centrally located. The view from our room was amazing; we would stay there again.

This was my second time staying at the Century Plaza because it offers good, overall value for the price. It is an excellent place to stay if you have loved ones in the hospital next door, and need to stay a while, or are simply going to a concert and need to stay a night or two. We enjoyed receiving a voucher to the restaurant, where we had an excellent meal. The staff were all very good and attended to a couple of minor deficiencies in our room, straight away. The hotel rooms are very large and simply decorated (as opposed to luxurious decor); we enjoyed having a fully-appointed kitchen.

Liked: Very large, one bedroom suite with a nice view; very good, friendly service, and prompt attention to deficiencies.
Disliked: The room is a little "tired" looking and lacked a "warm and cozy" feel. The floors could have been a little cleaner and the toilet leaked water onto the floor, so we woke up to puddles on the floor.

Good place to stay. Will...

Liked: Big room with small kitchen that included big fridge, stove, kettle and coffee maker. Big windows that allowed lots of light which was great during the time that we were there as we had lots of sun. I liked the option not to have the room serviced each day for a $10 voucher in the coffee shop. Central location made it easy to get to most Vancouver attractions. Coffee shop had nice coffee and snacks/food.
Disliked: There are two hospitals nearby which meant that there were often sirens from approaching ambulances day and night. The bathroom has “old school” shower over bath which can be a bit slippery (there is a rubber mat to use) and it can sometimes take a lot of time for the shower to get hot. Room cost seemed expensive but i think thats typical for Vancouver

Liked: The front desk staff and doormen were always friendly and hospitable. They even looked out for our children and were very kind to us when they cried, which put them back in a good mood. They have been wishing to stay there again.
