A grand central stay with...

Liked: Central location a short walk from the Hbf, this grand old hotel was very comfortable, quiet with excellent staff. The hotel restaurant was superb and we dined there on both nights of our stay. Our fish meals were cooked to perfection and the service was extremely good.

Nice stay in Hannover, close...

Liked: Very close to the train station, but still quiet

Very comfortable

Liked: Great location. Main station, shops, restaurants, opera all in walking distance. You will find plenty cheaper breakfast around but treat yourself at least once - their breakfast is actually value for money. It is great. The location isn't greatly noisy but if you are a light sleeper, shut the windows and run the air con. Beds were comfortable. Decor feels a little dated perhaps, but bathrooms were modern. At their restaurant, stick to the carte du jour. Nice mini bar service.
Disliked: Staff could be a tad more attentive. There are steps into reception and the two staff at reception watched on unmoved as my wife tried to heave her suitcase up. I had requested that a double be made out as a twin. It had not been done. After the first receptionist acknowledged my request, the second remained reluctant to do anything about it. They made it happen eventually. I was left puzzled whether they had bothered had I not requested it beforehand. There is no gym on site, though they can provide you with a temp membership at a nearby gym upon request.

Great stay!

Liked: Cute old fashioned style hotel in excellent location! The receptionist who checked us in on Friday night was super nice 😀
Disliked: Blinds are not super effective but what mostly annoyed me was the layout- so the bathroom shower of the room next door to us is just next to our beds . We heard everytime someone turned on the lights there , luckily only that. Still nothing a good eye mask for the lights and some eat plugs can’t fix. Wonderful value for money nevertheless!!

Brilliant location. Bedrooms need sound...

Liked: Amazing location and lovely old building. Good choice of foods & drinks at breakfast.
Disliked: Bedroom wall was paper thin. I felt like I had a room mate as I could hear every word of the man next door on a long phone call in the late evening. His alarm woke me up in the morning & annoyingly he left it on snooze when he went in the bathroom so it went off again 10 mins later & it was ages before he came out & cancelled it. I would happily have a narrower room if some decent sound insulation was installed.At least he didn't snore when he was asleep!
