Centennial Hotel

On checking into our room we found a left over tube of toothpaste and used floss on the bed. The hotel room was very hot and stuffy. We were woken early by noisy kitchen staff and the lady who served us breakfast was clearly rushed off her feet, and so when our breakfast arrived and we were served stale bread we felt we couldn't complain as the waitress was busy dealing with other customer complaints. We told the receptionist on checking out of the hotel and though she was very apologetic we were not offered any discount from our £120 room which is what we would have expected for such poor quality service.

Liked: Helpful and friendly receptionist.
Disliked: Overpriced; poor housekeeping; food not up to scratch.

Great find

Liked: I would come back here if visiting Cambridge again. It was a great price, easy to get to, there was on-site parking, it was clean and nice and the breakfast was good too

Cambridge is a superb place...

Liked: The room was very nice so was the whole facility. The guest lounge was excellent as was the bar and dining room. The car park was great and we parked easily. The staff were superb and very friendly. The location was outstanding and very close to the main attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was delicious. Many thanks for such a nice stay and we would thoroughly recommend the hotel for value, comfort and service. Brilliant.
Disliked: Nothing, it was all great. We really could not find fault with anything. The reception was very good and we felt like they were making a great effort to make us feel at home. I can't think of anything I would change, all good.

Good stay - minor flaws...

Liked: Staff are super friendly and helpful, there's plenty of parking behind the hotel, and the location is fab - just a 15 minute walk to the heart of everything. The complimentary breakfast comes fast. It's a quaint little place with nice character.
Disliked: Could have done with a little more toiletries in the room (shampoo, better hand soap - there was just a small bar of soap to use at the sink). Would also have been helpful to have a small fridge to keep water in - it was warm in the room (August), we had to get iced water from the bar to chill our water. It is a little stuffy in the room, with just one small window that can open, so we had the desk fan going a lot.

Liked: Breakfast, dinner x3 all excellent.Chef,Waiters and staff went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible,The parking was much better than we expected.A good location to visit most locations by foot.
Disliked: When we return to Cambridge and to your hotel,we would like ground floor accommodation as the stairs proved to be hard to climb with or without luggage.A baggage lift at least, or a lift for two and baggage would be great.

Short and pleasant stay in...

Liked: not far away from railway station, a very nice hotel, with friendly staff. You have everything needed for a short stay. You reach the city centre easily. Large lounge compensates for small room size.
Disliked: range of breakfast options could be wider

Liked: The room was clean, bright and airy. Very good bathroom with shower and bath. Very good breakfast and the location was excellent .
Disliked: There were no sockets near the bed and no USB.
