On checking into our room we found a left over tube of toothpaste and used floss on the bed. The hotel room was very hot and stuffy. We were woken early by noisy kitchen staff and the lady who served us breakfast was clearly rushed off her feet, and so when our breakfast arrived and we were served stale bread we felt we couldn't complain as the waitress was busy dealing with other customer complaints. We told the receptionist on checking out of the hotel and though she was very apologetic we were not offered any discount from our £120 room which is what we would have expected for such poor quality service.

Warm welcome and a great...

Liked: The staff were very welcoming and friendly whilst also being very professional. The location was also excellent, just a few minutes walk from the station and an easy walk into the centre of town. It was lovely to stay in a locally owned business rather than a chain hotel, and the personal service reflected this positive benefit. My colleague travelled by car and parking was super easy and there was a lot of flexibility to check in time and being able to leave luggage. Breakfast was very well organised and cooked to order, with good service and pleasant surroundings. Would definitely return.
Disliked: The only slight down side was that the bed was a little hard for my preference, but that was a minor point.
