Liked: The location, the fact that it was quiet despite being close to a main road, nice wallpaper and fresh smell

We weren’t expecting luxury with...

Liked: Close to the airport. The food was very good and most of the staff were doing their best.
Disliked: Dirty with a capital ‘D’. We had room 219 at the back of the hotel. Bed was filthy with dirty used tissues left under the stained mattress protector. Base of bed was heavily stained and dirty. Old spring mattress wouldn’t have been out of place in a Victorian prison cell. The hotel had tried to cover up the staining with an elasticated cover which was also filthy. All the carpets were worn and threadbare and taped down in places. The bathroom area was also stinking. Mould on the shower head, taps and shower base. Limescale everywhere. The radiator in the room was broken and noisy, sounded like something was trying to crawl through the pipes. Overall the entire hotel had a feel of an abandoned nursing home. Worn out public areas with tired dirty furnishings. Never again. The only redeeming features for this hotel were the staff. How they continue to be so happy is beyond me. The chef in particular was very friendly and his food is excellent.
