An all round great stay.
Liked: A really lovely stay in a very comfortable room. In conversation with friends who were staying in town at the same time, it also sounded like we had a much better experience than in other well regarded local accommodation. Really glad we stayed at Cedars.

Our first bed and breakfast
Liked: It was clean. Pretty property and well kept grounds. The breakfast sunporch was really nice and they served a good breakfast.
Disliked: The bathroom was extremely small for 4 adults. You had to hold your arms together to wash your hands. You also have a 1 inch gap under your bedroom door so you have to whisper most of your stay.

Exceptional
Liked: Friendly host, great location, cute venue, fun vibe eating breakfast in the breakfast room with the other guests. Plenty of parking spots in the back of the property (and a cute gazebo we didn't get to check out). We loved it! Would definitely come back

The fact the cleanliness lacks...
Liked: The location can't be beat! It's only a 22 minute walk to the Colonial Williamsburg town. The bed was comfy and enjoyed that they had housekeeping every day.
Disliked: The rooms were pretty small. Especially the bathroom sink. The water easily kept spilling over the sink, when washing my face in the morning. Even though they had toiletries, they did not stock them every day. I had to ask for shampoo everyday. This house being old as it is, has no insulation. So you can hear noise through the walls. On my last night there, someone checked in after 11:30 pm. I was on the second floor and this guest kept running up and down the stairs - Waking me up! This continued this for about 15 minutes! As well as every morning, I was easily awoken between 6 am - 6:30 am (ugh!). I can hear someone above me walking back and forth. I am guessing it was the staff getting ready to prepare the breakfast, which starts at 8 am. They only offer rooms on the first and second floor. There was no way of controlling the temperature. on my stay at the end of April, they kept the rooms on the "cooler" side. They did not provide a heater (or a fan). Nor did they provide an alarm clock. I had to ask for an Alarm Clock, (since my iPhone distracts me at night), as well as extra blankets to keep warm at night. The VERY worst part of our stay, was the white cloth napkins provided for breakfast - They were constantly full of long black hairs! Every day my husband and I found hairs wrapped up in the cloth were they placed the utensils in. This was simply disgusting! And on the last day, I received my scrambled eggs with a hair stand, as well as a piece of egg shell intact! One of the main reasons my husband and I choice this place, other than the location, was because we read the breakfast was outstanding - NOT ANYMORE! Twice of the four days of our stay, we only got served scrambled eggs with a small muffin and granola. Pretty frugal portions as well. Of course, they did have coffee, tea and O.J. After reading all those raving reviews over the breakfast, I was expecting more than just a simple put together breakfast. I was VERY disappointed.
