Cedar House

Great for weekend getaway.

Liked: Rooms were spacious and continental breakfast setup is great. Very nice breakfast area and shared lounge room.The owners are very helpful and friendlyUpstairs kitchen with specialty teas is a nice touch.Swimming pool is very nice.Highly recommend this place.
Disliked: Feels more like a home than hotel so takes a little getting used to. Self check in and help yourself type place but very comfortable.

Liked: Very hospitable host - a comfortable friendly place to stay. Spacious, with lots of living area spaces, it's so easy to relax and enjoy, in private or in communal areas. Excellent accomodation.

This could be a wonderful...

Liked: Cedar House is a fine, large house very close to the town centre with beautifully equipped large bedrooms, a small heated pool and hot tub and free on-site parking. The owners Roger and Penny are very hospitable too.
Disliked: As several other comments have noted, the breakfast is very poor, a "continental" breakfast in name only. Roger recommends a visit to the weekend farmers' market yet serves none of the wonderful local produce available there! There is no protein (no cold cuts, cheese, eggs, nuts or seeds), basically just starch (cereals and bread/toast with minimal preserves). The only fruit was passion fruit and TINNED peaches! Also, the duvet was far too hot in February.

A beautiful facility but short...

Liked: A beautifully maintained 120+ year old house with modern pool, pool house and decks. Our first floor room had high ceilings, nice seating area with bay window looking out on pool area, very comfortable king sized bed, updated en-suite bathroom.
Disliked: Expected more than a serve-yourself breakfast of cereal and toast and coffee.

A short but enjoyable stay.

Liked: Lovely place, friendly staff, lovely balcony views, excellent facilities.
Disliked: Nothing.

Beautiful accommodation that felt so spacious and relaxing

Liked: The rooms are so spacious and the whole place is so well fit out and finished.
Disliked: A few rooms have a private but detached bathroom accessible in the hallway. Obviously this isn't something that can be changed and was no issue at all but just be aware of it in case you are sensitive to that
