Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate

The facility is very nice...

Liked: Loved the location, bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the great reception on the TV. Staff were just lovely, although certain receptionists were rather smug and a bit snooty, I’m sorry to say
Disliked: The heat in the bedroom and on the third floor, which we were on and from the day we checked in, it was so hot in our room, we could hardly sleep. An old desk fan was provided but it just moved the hot air around. We could only open the window about 2 inches and there was a settee wedged in front of the window, so we couldn’t move it. There was a radiator on - full blast - just outside the door to the stairs, and although I asked at least twice for it to be turned off, I was greeted by smug looks between the receptionists and told they would ask Housekeeping to turn it off but in the 10 days we stayed there, it was constantly on!

Liked: The location
Disliked: The noise outside bedroom door. I stayed on the fourth floor with my husband and a door alarm went off all night and morning. I hardly slept. I have stayed in many hotels due to being ex cabin crew and this was the worst unfortunately. Also, if you are staying at the hotel I personally don’t believe people should be paying for parking. Lastly, the roof tile in the bathroom looked like it was ready to fall down.

Overall a disappointing stay.

Liked: Ground floor looked impressive
Disliked: Room was small. Walls were marked in several places. Overall needed redecorating. Bottom of bathroom door was chipped and broken. Bath front cracked and broken. Blackout of curtain lining is torn. Overall a poor standard for price.

Liked: Room was very very clean, fresh and tidyBreakfast was excellent, well cooked, well presented and plenty of options. We have stayed in lots of hotels in Harrogate, this was the first time at Cedar court, we will definatley be booking this hotel in the future location is very good, 10 mins easy walking to the center reception area was very nice to sit and have a peacfull drink reception lady was very helpfull and nice (Mrs Warren) All the staff were friendly Priced perfectly

Disliked: Bedroom not clean, dust fluff balls in corners of room, bathroom not clean, bathroom door sticky, toiletries for one. Upgraded and room no better.

Disliked: Car parking was a erratic there was a conference happening as we had to pay for car parking after having been out for the day there was very little parking left for resident's.

Liked: The outside was very nice to look at and the bar area and restaurant looked nice.
Disliked: The rooms were dirty and the room we had was horrible the bathroom ceiling was coming down the mattress needed replacing about 4 years earlier it was broken you heard the spring ping when you moved the floors were so creaky I was worried the room below could hear us when we walked around, it was just horrible and dated, I think the hotel will blame this on being a dog freindly room but even the dogs looked uncomfortable. I feel its un fair that you pay more for dogs to stay and they put you in a filty room, when I know kids can be messy but they don't get charged extra for walking food in the carpet. I feel all the money the hotel puts into the look of the hotel and the downstairs rather than the rooms people are paying for, my husband got stuck in the lift, so the hotel gave us the £30 extra we paid for the dog and the £16 we paid for early check in, which i found the 30 insulting as they obviously don't use the extra money to clean the rooms, but I would not return after a rubbish night sleep on a broken mattress and then delaying my departure by getting stuck in a lift, travel lodge are cheaper and much cleaner
