The hotel is very pleasant with ducks by the river. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the general atmosphere is good.

Liked: The aspect and the range of breakfast items.
Disliked: The first breakfast space was not so good: with coffee standing in dispensers and hot water that wasn't so hot.

Disappointing

Liked: Location.
Disliked: No air conditioning in the middle of heatwave, pool facility was closed early, and 4* rating is not suitable.

Ok for what we wanted...

Liked: Breakfast was good. Looks beautiful from outside. Parking good.
Disliked: Room was far too hot. Windows only opened tiny bit. Fan was provided but had to place it too far away from bed. Walls not very clean in room. Man arrested early hours when we were in the bar. All staff came outside to observe. Bar man too busy. We had to wait a long time to get a drink even though there was barely anyone in.

Liked: Lovely grounds. Cheap alcoholic drinks. Big rooms
Disliked: Bathroom wasn’t the best. Small sink and very low down. Shower head holes were half bloked.

Good for a short stay...

Liked: Beautiful hotel building which is easy to spot from the outside.The bedroom had everything we needed.Breakfast (not included) had good variety. Mostly friendly staff.
Disliked: The room was quite hard to locate with heavy suitcases. It may have been useful to have a map/ written directions.Not the best transport links - you really need a car to get around, particularly if coming back at night.

Disliked: The hotel is charging for the grandeur of the exterior of the building. the rooms in the "modern" section were dated with mould on the bath sealant, carpets that didn't reach the wall with exposed concrete floor!Dated cheap furniture, a metal strap around the mattress which scraped my leg as I slid out of bed.Drunk golfers continually swearing F word and C word in the bar! very poor experience.All this for £170 B&B!!!

Great place for a quick...

Liked: The pool, sauna and steam room were great. Large pool, very quiet, good opening times and well maintained. Staff were really great and helpful, going that extra mile to get things right.
Disliked: The rooms are dated. Small TV, electric shower with poor pressure, dated room, furniture and bed but not in keeping with a modern bathroom. No AC in rooms on a very hot day. Some of the rooms have internal views of a courtyard wall which means very little natural light and no flow of air. Occasionally we had a very strong drains smell in our room.
