The hotel is very pleasant with ducks by the river. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the general atmosphere is good.

Liked: The aspect and the range of breakfast items.
Disliked: The first breakfast space was not so good: with coffee standing in dispensers and hot water that wasn't so hot.

Liked: The grounds were lovely and the building has real historic character especially the main entrance. the pool and spa facilities were a real highlight. The spa staff were especially warm and welcoming.
Disliked: My room was really disappointing — it was dirty, the TV and tap didn’t work, there were iron burns on the carpet, and the shower was moldy. The whole space felt extremely dated and poorly maintained. It’s such a missed opportunity, because the setting is great but completely let down by the condition of the rooms.

Great Country House Hotel and...

Liked: We needed to find a Hotel near Beverley, I booked Cave Castle 6 miles away with a last minute deal, we arrived 15 mins later. An excellent choice. Good Hotel, good room, good pool, a golf course etc etc
Disliked: Nothing much

Room clean and pleasant as...

Liked: I stay regularly and the rooms are always nice and clean
Disliked: The rates for gym and pool access have changed and make little sense nor make use viable for one night stay, it had doubled from £6 to £12 from my last visit and whilst the £12 is for the room I was still only a single person staying a single night. Never had an issue with the £6 makes sense for a one night visit but the jump to £12 is not viable unless there are two of you in the room or staying 3+ nights, apparently if you pay for breakfast the gym is included (I don't eat breakfast but again what a stupid rule). I ran my shower for 10 minutes prior to use and it still did not get hot water, that would make two cold showers on my one night stay, if I'd have known I'd have paid £12 to shower in the gym ;)

Liked: We stay several times each year and generally like everything.
Disliked: On this particular occasion, we upgraded to stay in The Bordello suite as we hadn't stayed in this room previously. The room itself was very nice, the bathroom was amazing. However, unfortunately, we both had a very restless/sleepless night due to a constant noise, which sounded to be coming from a water tank.
