Causeway Hotel

Wonderful!

Liked: I have always wanted to stay at the Causeway Inn since my first time coming in 1999. It was a wonderful experience and would love to go again, but stay more than one night.
Disliked: It was older so not having a lift made it a little harder on us. Would have liked to had more attention to getting our bags to our rooms.

Exceptional

Spoiled by the lack of...

Disliked: No lift.I am 73 and even I was helping residents up the main staircase with their luggage

A perfect choice to start...

Liked: The hotel is exceptional. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. The restaurant was wonderful. But the feature that stood out most of all ... was the room. Our room was at the end of the hotel, and the "balcony" was the end unit showing views of all three sides of the property, including trails down to the Causeway itself. We were extraordinarily fortunate ... the famous Irish weather held off and we were treated to gorgeous views of the sunset, all while sitting outside and relaxing in the brisk Irish evening air. What a great evening we had.The Giant's Causeway is quite heavily covered with tourists. The Causeway Hotel attempts to strike a balance ... trying to accommodate the huge number of visitors, all the while trying to provide a comfortable and welcoming respite ... an oasis amongst the crowds. For us, the Hotel succeeded wonderfully in hitting that balance. (We very much appreciated the automagic for free parking and entry into the Causeway Visitor Center.) Great restaurant, very relaxing. And the room ... just wonderful.

Disliked: Dated rooms clean but 80s furniture painted, the room needs a huge upgrade

Cold and uncomfortable

Liked: Room wa Literally too small to swing a cat.s horrible, nowhere to sit, TV at knee height???? damp and cold.
Disliked: The Royal Court down the road, much better.

we had a great time!

Liked: the staff were so efficient and polite. nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, the portions were very generous. Breakfast was unrushed and loved that he food was freshly cooked.
Disliked: the room was a little tired decoratively, i couldn't reach the safe; I am only 5foot 2 inches, the safe was on the top shelf of the wardrobe. I was surprised there was no fridge in the room. i take medication that needed to be refrigerated, so it was a bit of a faff making sure i had ice to keep it cool
