Overall, my stay was disappointing,...

Liked: The location was fantastic. Right in the heart of the city. Signposting was good as the entrance is down a laneway off Little Collins Street. The bed was comfy, the room was a good size and was clean and tidy.
Disliked: The biggest disappointment during my stay was wrangling the keycard system. As with most hotels, access to the elevator and room were via keycard. I was given 2 keycards upon arrival. After insterting both cards multiple times into the cardreader on the door to my room and getting a red flashing light, I went back down to reception to check the cards had been activated. I was assured they should work so I tried again. This time neither card worked in the elevator. I went back to reception and the receptionist got into the lift with me. He inserted the card and it worked first time. He escorted me to my room and the card worked again, first time. I thought the fault was mine and I obviously didn't have "the knack". For the duration of my 4 night stay, I had to insert the cards multiple times in both the elevator and door card readers before they worked. Other guests I encountered in the lift also said they struggled with the keycards. I raised the issue with reception staff upon check out, and they agreed the system was quite temperamental. Apart from that, my only other feedback would be that the single serve milk cartons and instant coffee were not replaced every day.

Disappointing

Disliked: Unexpected $100 bond to pay on top of the price of the hotel we had already paid which we did not have as we were only stopping over in Melbourne for a night. The man was kind enough to reduce it to $50 but over 2 weeks later this has still not been refunded
