Liked: The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. It is showing some age, but overall to stay was nice. The cleaning lady was very pleasant and offered to make the bed.

Acceptable for the price and...

Liked: The person who checked us in was friendly and efficient. They accept pets for a reasonable price which is much appreciated.
Disliked: We have stayed with Castlewood several times and it it showing it's lack of regular upkeep. The overall condition of the property has deteriorated. I don't expect a five start hotel for a three star price but they can keep up with the little things like picking up trash and painting a damaged door for very little investment. I hate to see the place is starting to get run down as it has been our Go To motel in Maggie Valley for several years.

Liked: Like that it's close to the shops and restaurants.
Disliked: Hotel needs some upgrades. Small holes in bathroom walls were stuffed with toilet paper. Sink fixtures and around sink were old and rusty. The worst was the towels/washcloths. They were old and dingy. They looked more like rags to clean with. Will definitely stay somewhere else next time we visit.
