It was perfect! Exactly what...

Liked: The cottage was very nice and roomy. Had all we needed for cooking. Great location to the beach and pool. Great atmosphere!
Disliked: The floors in our cottage were extremely dirty. Cleaned up a small spill and the towel was almost black with dirt. Would be nice with more outdoor chairs for porch no loungers.

Liked: This was our second time staying at Castle in the Sand and we truly enjoy it. We love the location and the fact that it's a quick walk to everywhere. The on-site restaurant also makes pretty good food as well. My favorite part is that it's right on the beach which is our happy place. The staff also has been great. Everyone is very nice.
Disliked: No complaints out of me. We would definitely stay there again and again.

We definitely recommend staying at...

Liked: Stayed here over sun fest weekend. We had a balcony room on the 2nd floor overlooking the patio bar. Live music played everyday 12 - 8 from Thurs - Sun. We would open our door up a listen to it on the balcony or in the room when we weren’t on the patio. The 2-1 drink happy hour that occurs from 5-6 was fun and packed the bar and patio area. Asked if we could carry lounge chairs down to the beach and sit by the ocean, they said yes. They would have also carried them down and back for us if we asked.

Enjoyable stay, pleasantly surprised with...

Liked: Really enjoyed staying here. We booked last minute to attend the Oceans Calling concert at the end of September after original accommodations with a friend didn't work out. The price was right, but considering the last minute nature, I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The room we had was ocean front with two double beds. The view was beautiful. Rooms were clean with modern updates. It was fairly quiet, although you could occasionally hear folks outside on the window side. The hallways were definitely aged though, dimly lit and roasting hot. Exterior of the hotels looked like a castle. It's not Excalibur in Las Vegas, but it's cute. My wife and I commented that our kids (age 12 and 10) would get a kick out of the exterior décor. (We didn't have kids with us, but it looks like they have children's activities throughout the summer from the website.)Coconuts bar was right under our portion of the hotel. Again, would probably be super fun in the summer months, but wasn't very crowded when we were there. Enjoyed a couple of very nicely made drinks. There was a breakfast restaurant/ice cream shop on the bottom floor of our hotel tower, but we didn't get a chance to check it out. Menu looked good though. The weather wasn't conducive for swimming in the pool (although that didn't stop a few people), but there is also a huge, Olympic-sized swimming pool at the front. Finally, the staff was awesome and very helpful, which can make all the difference. Parking was plentiful and the location was great for walking to restaurants, the boardwalk, the convention center, etc.
Disliked: Elevator was a bit small and slow, but that's a minor complaint. They also still use actual keys! That was fine, but in an age where some hotels allow you to unlock your room from your smartphone, I was surprised to get a physical key (and anxiety about losing it!)
