Castle House Hotel

Superb

Liked: Great location for walking around Canterbury, parking on site, the hotel is built into the city walls and opposite the castle. Staff were great.

Adequate for short stay.

Liked: Historical building, parking, cleanliness.
Disliked: No cooked breakfast, very small tv, poor water pressure.

Liked: For us the hotel is at a great location from city centre. The East train station is basically at the door step, the West one is 15 minutes walk, which we did not mind at all as we came by train. The hotel is in an old building, with thick walls, it had a kind of charm, which we liked. For breakfast we had continental, with lots of varieties to choose from. Personally I like a continental breakfast, my partner missed the traditional English one ( he is English though), but we were satisfied with it overall. Our room was on the ground floor, with a huge bathroom. The room was big and had everything we needed.The hotel staff was extremely helpful and kind, we enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend the hotel.
Disliked: These things just for mentioning for future guests- we couldn't open the windows (we were on ground floor, faced towards the carpark though ) but it was not a problem generally, as the room was cool enough for us- sockets under the tv (again, this is an old building, and because we booked the room quite late to Easter, we got a room with the twin beds pushed together, so the bedside sockets were behind the headboard out of reach)

Liked: Very convenient for city plus good value overall
Disliked: A little bit shabby in places room would benefit from a deep clean. Shower pressure not very good. On the plus side large room and comfortable bed. Parking a big bonus.
