Peaceful, luxurious retreat in the...
Liked: Room 22 in the town house - because we were travelling with our dog - accessed a small garden behind the room - perfect. No restaurant in the evening but smoked salmon platters and a crisp white wine were enjoyed on the terrace over the 'duck pond'.Breakfast was wonderfully indulgent! All staff courteous, kind and patient.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Positive overnight stay
Liked: Nice room for one person. There was welcome package with crisps, apple, cookies, and apple juice. Also, they had put locally produced wine for tasting. It was a positive surprise. Nice clean bed sheets, nice vintage style, fresh. Loccitane toiletries.Unfortunately, I didn't manage to try the breakfast with their locally produced ingredients.Lovely staff.
Disliked: Nothing

A very enjoyable stay
Liked: Room was tastefully furnished, with complimentary snacks, apple juice and sherry!Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was very tasty. Breakfast room and garden really attractive. Free parking. Quiet street minutes away from cathedral, shops and riverside walk.
Disliked: The room was “compact” as advertised. Ok for one night.

Superb location, excellent breakfast!
Liked: We would have preferred a room in the main hotel, but for one night, the townhouse was fine. Superb breakfast and delightful location.
Disliked: Townhouse room on the small side.

Lovely place to stay but...
Liked: We were in a townhouse suite which was spectacular and felt like home. Really beautiful, clean and everything we needed was thought of, including a lovely basket of free local produce which was a lovely touch. The location was good too.
Disliked: Considering the price, I would have thought the breakfast would have included more that just one small meal from the menu. I ordered the waffles with banana and my partner got the full English. The food was lovely but really small. Mine was simply one small waffle with one banana and some pecans. My partner’s full English was more full but no beans and I think toast had to be ordered separately. Considering the room was £280 for one night, we assumed as there was a table with pastries that these were included as a buffet part but on further inspection we realised we would have to pay for them. We were asked what we wanted to drink and ordered coffees which were nice but we didn’t know if juice was also included or we had to pay for this. We had to wait for someone to eventually turn up to seat us for breakfast and she didn’t give any info about what was included or not. Check out was also a disaster as there was no one at the desk. We waited for about 20 mins (along with a family of 3 who were waiting about 15 mins of those with us) until we gave up and left the key on the desk and dropped our bags to our car. We then went back and asked someone at the bar as we were conscious of leaving the key to which I was told someone was at the desk now. I got no apology for having to stand around and wait. The man at the desk seemed to be also serving lunch in the bar/outside so this seemed to explain the wait but if someone was trying to check in/leave their bags at that time it would have been a very bad impression. All in all, the place is lovely but needs better organisation with staff.

Liked: Great location
Disliked: Slightly half hearted reception on arrival. No one on the desk for 10 minutes and only then after hunting to find someone.
