Castle Hotel

What stay? Booking.com do not...

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Hotel was closed, had ceased trading and local people said this had been the case for two months. You continue to send me comms as though it is still open. What is going on? You emailed me to give a review after I told you it was closed! Had I not been fortunate, I would have been in a strange town with nowhere to stay because of booking.com.

Disliked: The hotel was closed when I got there and had been for months.

Disliked: After three days the hotel was closed. The staff threw me out on the street. I'm waiting for a refund

Liked: Clean comfy bedroom, basic but did the job
Disliked: No facilities whatsoever, no service, nothing that I get when I stay at a normal hotel and the price doesn’t reflect this

Passable

Liked: The bed was super comfy and the main room was clean enough. Slept really well. There was a heater provided to warm the room more when the main heating went off.
Disliked: The room is dated, the bathroom felt unclean.

Liked: Clean warm cosy rooms and pet friendly. The staff were friendly and let us get on with things, front door fob so could come and go easily with no time constraints. Perfect location for the snow dome and park right near the castle.
Disliked: No hotel restaurant or bar

Disappointing

Liked: The staff were amazing, very friendly, and couldn't do enough to help. The location of the hotel was also really good.
Disliked: The room was very cold, decor very outdated. The shower was without any pressure leaving only a trickle of water coming out. Impossible to have a proper shower. The food wasn't up to standard either. The light by the bed did not work.

Apart from the noise reasonable...

Disliked: Could hear music from a wedding party and noise from street.
