Liked: Subject: Serious Complaint Regarding Unacceptable Conditions at Waikiki Grand HotelDear Waikiki Grand Hotel Management,My husband stayed at your hotel from April 17 to April 26, and I am writing to formally express our extreme dissatisfaction with the conditions he encountered.The cleanliness of the hotel was far below acceptable standards and posed a serious health hazard. Cockroaches were found in the kitchen area, the sofa was badly sunken and unsanitary, and the towels provided were visibly dirty and poorly maintained. It was clear that proper hygiene protocols were either neglected or completely ignored.This experience was not only deeply unpleasant but also unacceptable for any establishment claiming to offer hospitality services. We feel completely let down and will never return to your hotel. Furthermore, we will be sharing our experience to warn other potential guests.We urge your management to take immediate action to address these severe issues.Sincerely,[Jane Han]

Good, but not the best...
Liked: So the experience in this hotel was good, but not the best. The room was clean, the view was beautiful, the location is great, and the staff is welcoming. All the great attributes of a good stay in Hawaii for an “affordable” stay. Really can’t complain much.On the bright side, they really gave me the ocean view with balcony and was able to reserve a parking spot in their indoor garage for the whole stay (at a cost of $33 per day, which is rather normal price for the location). The parking spot fit an SUV comfortably.Also, everything use codes to access room, garage, pool, laundry room, etc. So you can go splash in the beach which is 3 min walk from hotel without worrying you do get the card/key wet.
Disliked: However, the room itself (decorations, bed sheets, water faucets) felt outdated to the point it’s a turn off. The room looks and feels like motel from the 60’s. If they revamp the rooms, the stay would feel so much better. For the same price or a bit more, I could stay in an hotel that feels more like an “hotel”. Finally, it’s an island, and they try to save water by making the water flow from the faucets reduced and slow. This can be annoying if you are not used to it.Would I stay again in this hotel or recommend to anyone? No, I learned my lesson not to be a cheapskate. I do prefer to pay more and fully enjoy my stay in Hawaii.

Liked: Staff, coffee, pool
Disliked: We were in a room right next to the hotel “smoking section”. They did offer to move us but it wasn’t until day 4 of our trip so it wouldn’t only been one night in a different room. The room we were in was very stuffy. Very claustrophobic. One narrow rectangular window, that’s it. No outside sitting area. I was super dissatisfied with how much money we spent. Staff all very nice. Pool was great. Just spend another $250 a night to not get one of the rooms we did.

Amazing location at a reasonable...
Liked: What a brilliant location ! One short block from the beach, surrounded by great bars and restaurants - perfect. And reasonably priced for the location, as the rooms themselves are clean and tidy but a little dated. Really appreciated keyless entry, the provision of beach towels as well as bath towels, and the very helpful staff.
Disliked: The rooms are advertised as having the option of a king size bed or two singles. Booked it and requested the two singles option (mother and daughter trip). Received a strange response saying my request couldn’t be confirmed in advance but they’d try to accommodate the request on arrival - I’m not sure why you’d offer the option, but then say it can’t be confirmed. And THEN, on arrival (at 9.30pm after a long flight) we were allocated a room with only one non-divisible bed, and the staff said they had no notes of my request. BUT the wonderful staff member said she’d try to arrange something, and did - found us a room with two beds (one king, one double), so it all worked out.The rooms (and hotel) are older, and you get what you pay for - the toilet blocked (but was easily fixed with the provided plunger), and the fridge was almost as loud as the aircon (but became white noise and didn’t affect our sleep). All of that was more than made up for by the staff, the location, and the price.

Great hotel, staff and location
Liked: The room was amazing, equipped with everything we needed, full kitchen & beautiful balcony & the staff were so helpful. Also they provided beach towels which was great.
Disliked: we had to wait every 2 days to get fresh towels but it wasn’t a big inconvenience, Auntie was great and did us the favor of giving us fresh towels when we asked.
