A gorgeous, comfortable gem in...

Liked: Our hostess, Jolanta, called prior to our visit to ensure we were assigned rooms that were accessible and met our needs. The rooms: the Papineau for myself and my husband and the Montcalm for our daughter and her fiancé, could not have been anymore inviting, clean, spacious and comfortable! Our room was huge, with decor that was interesting, functional and unique. We made lots of use of our private deck, complete with a couple of tables and chairs. There is no daily room service but extra towels, tissue and TP are conveniently stored on each floor. The included breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The decor in the dining area delightful and included many delightful rooster and chicken figurines. Breakfast was extensive: selection of breads, bagels and lovely preserves, boiled eggs, cheese, a freshly baked fruit crisp or banana bread, yogurt with seeds, grains as raisins to add, a variety of boxed cereal, fresh juice and lots of good, strong coffee. The location was terrific with the Chateau Frontenac, Funiculaire and dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance. A superb hotel, with a wonderfully friendly and helpful hostess, Jolanta!
Disliked: The staircases are steep and unavoidable as all of the rooms are at least one flight up, but I?m sure this is the norm in Vieux Quebec..and it certainly adds to its charm!

Liked: This charming B&B is uniquely decorated, with the owner's own sense of style, art, hospitality, grace and good cheer. The breakfast was scrumptious and the breads were so fresh and delicious. The shower had good water pressure, the towels were not scratchy (like at some small places), the paintings on the wall were delightful. Yolanda did everything she could to make our stay comfortable.
Disliked: I didn't realize my room would have stairs from one floor to the other. Once the owner carried my too-heavy bag down the steps, it was wonderful. We even had an outdoor, ground-level patio.

Liked: The location was perfect, right in the heart of old Quebec City and just around the corner from the public parking garage. The room was very quiet even though it was on a ground floor. The classic continental breakfast was fresh and just enough selections, eggs, cheese, fresh breads, jams, cereals and good coffee, to get the day started. We took our trays up to the beautiful roof terasse one morning for a wonderful view. Highly recommend!
Disliked: No complaints at all.

Superb

Liked: Everything else was great. The rooms are large and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed meeting the lovely owner who was most helpful and a good source of local information. The location is perfect for walking access to any of the "must see" sites as well as to the wide variety of restaurants which exist in the city.
Disliked: No elevator or stair lift. Three floors with narrow, steep staircases.
