Liked: Spacious, clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Quiet location but very convenient for old Monterey. Staff very helpful with a change to the booking.
Disliked: Additional charge for parking

Liked: Lovely Hotel with lots of parking availability for a good price. The pool was heated and nice to swim in. The rooms are small but comfy.
Disliked: Rooms had a bit of a strange smell, like they used to be smoking rooms a while ago.

Liked: The location and accommodations were great. This is close to everything. The majority of things you'll want to do in Monterey are within walking distance.
Disliked: There was a TON of noise from the people upstairs, and it went through the night. There's not a lot of noise insulation.

Very good

Liked: Appreciated the 30-minute extended late check-out, the super friendly housekeeping, the presence of the swimming pool. Bedding is good.
Disliked: It’s historic, but it’s also dated. The shower head needs an upgrade, water pressure is poor, soundproofing is lacking. While there is vegetation on the property, it’s essentially a huge asphalted parking lot with occasional shrubs and one palm tree, so garden hotel is a stretch.
