Casa Loma was a decent place to stay for the price. Small and a little cold but what do you expect for an old building in San Francisco. The shared bathroom was not as clean as it could have been but if you just want a cheap place to stay in a good location this is the place.

Liked: Quiet and straight to the point.
Disliked: Shared bathroom was not as clean as it could have been.

Very poor

Liked: Location is great! Close to painted ladies, shops, restaurants. Coffee un lobby was good.
Disliked: Room was tiny and looked like it was going to be remodeled but left halfway through. Sink would back up a lot. Gross. Police came and were looking for a neighbor. It was scary. We were afraid a shootout would happen or other violence. Glad it did not escalate. Bathrooms were disgusting and not cleaned often. I would never stay here again. First time we stayed here, it was an excellent stay. Not this time.

Worth it for the price.

Liked: I loved the historical architecture and the fact that from the 3rd floor, I could see far into the city. There were also tasty free coffee choices in the morning.
Disliked: It's a bit noisy at night until the traffic dies down, but earplugs will fix that. I totally understand that it's a trade off between how much you want to spend and what you get. Still glad I stayed.
