Excellent hotel with excellent service

Liked: First class hotel and staff. The rooftop terrace alone is a scoop. Also the breakfast was fabulous. I told them it was my birthday during the stay, and they immediately responded by giving me and my wife a bottle of cava and birthdaycake in the room :-)

Liked: The service is exceptional at this place. Small things appear all the time out of nowhere. The location is perfect and there are lots of restaurants and sightseeing places close by. The rooftop bar is a nice place to enjoy before dinner.
Disliked: Shower and bathtub were combined, we rather have just a nice show to walk in.

Rooms felt like we were...

Liked: Over the last two decades, I’ve stayed here twice before. This was my third visit with my son. The staff are friendly. The location is great. The decor and standard of the rooms are not great.
Disliked: Quality of rooms. Think of peeling wallpaper, damp patches and a general ‘tired’ look of the interior. Mattresses need replacing, as beds are not comfortable. Air conditioning was broken. Spotlights in the room were not working (this is not one light, but four lights). Pipes gurgled every time we’d shower or flush the loo or use the taps of the sinks. Staff are a little confused about allergens in food, some staff obfuscated the truth when serving me food at breakfast time (like serving me something straight from a dish from the breakfast table and then telling it it was freshly prepared in the kitchen!) Also, I didn’t much like the price for the room considering it was being charged at high end 5 star rates, when in fact it felt like it operated as a 3 star hotel.
