Bad

Liked: The Interrior is beautiful, but apparently, any person from the street who is going to the restaurant can walk around inside, so there is no need to book this hotel just for the Interrior.
Disliked: - The hotel charged me twice, though I told them I had paid via booking.com, but they didn't want to check by getting in touch with booking.comI have received my refund only 2 weeks later and not the full amount ( all receipts saved)- Very rude and unprofessional receptionists and manager, threatened to kick me out in the middle of the night if I didn't pay for my stay. - Homeless people sleeping on the square just in front of the hotel- Very loud. Anyone could organize a very loud party in the restaurant. Music was heard in all corners of the hotel. They said the party was till 11 p.m. but until the guests were all out, it was 1 p.m - Quality-price is just ridiculous

Perfect located excellent newly renovated...

Liked: Amazing hotel with perfect location for visiting the historical centre. Rooms where big, comfortable beds and clean. Air condition effective. Good value for money.
Disliked: The staff was not up to a five star hotel. Some were excellent but some had a stiff upper lip attitude. Compared to the other hotels in Mexico we visited they were not as helpful and engaged. Sad for such a nice hotel otherwise. There was no information in the room about neither the service in the hotel nor the history of the hotel. It was once Cortez house so got some story to tell.

Great old world atmosphere and...

Liked: The hotel is a beautiful historic building with a great location in Mexico City's cultural center. It has an exceptional restaurant and serves a wonderful breakfast with several delicious options. The staff provides exceptional customer service.
Disliked: Given the historic nature of the building, my standard room was was small with a cramped bathroom but I understand the superior rooms are larger with windows. Bed gets a B+ for comfort however plenty of terrific pillows!

Perfect blend of history and...

Liked: The hotel is in a beautifully restored historic building, with friendly helpful staff. The hotel is located steps from the Zocalo and many museums in the historic center. The interiors include a first rate amenities, while the decor includes beautiful tile floors, stone walls, and palatial grand stair to descend every morning. Amazing dining and breakfast experiences: The breakfast, included in our rate, was gourmet, generous, and authentic Mexican (or American if you like). The rooftop terrace restaurant Tezontle was casually elegant, breezy and cool, with amazing cocktails (their Mojito Santo is an experience!), friendly wait staff, and delicious menu that made us want to come back again and again. We dined there for 4 of our 8 evenings in Mexico City, it was so delicious, and the menu so varied. Highly recommend!
Disliked: Nothing to do with the Hotel itself, but the traffic in the city is so intense, it was sometimes a long wait to get an Uber to arrive. Always give yourself lots of spare time! Also, the City is so big that no matter where you stay, historic center included, you will find yourself taking some fairly long taxi rides to get to other neighborhoods. Again, this would be true no matter where in CDMX you stay!
