You could not tell that this was a dog friendly hotel.

Ok I wish it was...
Liked: Close to the hospital . Breakfast was good
Disliked: My room was near the elevators and I could hear the conversation clearly of the people waiting for the elevator. I checked in at 1:00 am and had to try to get some sleep before I had to get back to the hospital to see my sick husband and I was woken multiple times by people talking.

Nice stay.
Liked: The buffet breakfast is quite good. Room is clean and comfortable.
Disliked: Parking is a bit tight. Overflow available across the street. A standard reservation default to the floor that allows pets, but dogs barking can be annoying.

Disliked: The room was a bit to hot even with the heat off. Would have been nice to have a Fan like most other hotels do

I would stay here again...
Liked: We booked this hotel because we wanted a facility with hot breakfast each morning, as is the norm with African hospitality. We saw it recommended for this exact fact on Trip Advisor and took the leap of faith to book it. We loved the breakfast, it was quite filling and sufficient to keep us satiated and energized throughout the day (and we had onerous tasks in Calgary). Bi and the rest of the team in the restaurant accommodated us well. As Africans staying at the hotel and lovers of tea, she gave me hot milk every morning + hot water for tea. Tea is never made with hot water and cold milk because then the tea becomes cold and tea is not a cold drink. So she was very understanding and so were her colleagues. They engage in conversation with the clientele and that's a good thing. This hotel, whose staff are mostly ladies, really go out of their way to make every client feel warm and welcome (think of an Inn from a Hallmark Movie). The front desk staff were also polite and attended to our requests. The thin pillows are nice, I liked that the hotel had an option for clients who don't necessarily like thick pillows. May I add that the rooms are exceptionally clean, the sheets are clean, and everything here inspires confidence. Ask for a room on 6th floor and above if you want to get a view of downtown. Lower floor rooms have a view of the vent system (eew, we experienced this when we extended our stay by a night and they were fully booked so we had to move from the 6th floor to the 2nd floor).
Disliked: One server in particular (a lady) on Friday, told me that she couldn't give me hot milk when I requested it. She hadn't served us before. She had an attitude at first and made me feel unwelcomed but later, her attitude towards us changed and her service improved. I think she was just under pressure or having a bad day. When the hotel rents a microwave to a client who has brought takeout into their room, it would be nice to provide a cutlery set (fork, knife, and spoon), so that one can use them to eat. We got the microwave but since we didn't have cutlery, we ended up not using it. I wish there was public transit close by.
