Disliked: Room needs a spruce up, creaky bed, broken toilet flusher handle. No shower

The place was fine, but...

Liked: We knew that the property would be dated, so the room was fine for what we needed.It had everything we needed. We didn't have breakfast. The location was excellent for visiting family in Bangor and was a good price. If we had had normal, considerate neighbours and no interconnecting door,our stay would have been a great deal better
Disliked: The bar was expensive, so we didn't use it on our second night. Also we were the only ones in the bar, so felt a bit conspicuous. There was a very noisy group of men in the room next door, who rolled in during the early hours of our first night. The next morning they were even noisier & were banging on our door asking to be let in!! My husband shouted at them that they were trying the wrong room & to keep the noise down! There was an interconnecting door between the two rooms which was far from ideal and I was concerned that they could get into our room, so was very uneasy. Also because it wasn't a solid wall, it really felt and sounded as if they were in the same room and didn't feel secure! The interconnecting door needed bricking up for sound proofing, security and privacy.

Recommend for a cheap and...

Liked: Hotel staff were warm and welcoming and always happy to help.
Disliked: Let’s be honest the hotel probably has seen its best years, but that like all of us, ain’t it ? What it lacks in modern stylings it makes up for in kinds was and helpfulness of staff, location and price. I will definitely go back!! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Its was ok, but I...

Liked: The room was clean and plenty of hot water. Downstairs had obviously had a lot of money spent on it
Disliked: Everything besides the downstairs wedding area needed serious renovated. torn and worn carpets, windows that we couldnt open as they had been screwed shut. As there was a wedding on, we were unable to order any food until the wedding meal had been served which we were informed would be another hour and a half.. it was already 7pm... we ended up having to order pizza from just eat and eat it on the patio surrounded by wedding guests...

Adequate base for an over...

Liked: Staff friendly, good location, ample parking, key card to outside entrance so could come and go as and when we wanted, free WiFi and good tv signal, could take the dog, although now £15 not £10, for some reason due to a mix up with booking our dog hadn't been included but did switch our rooms to accommodate us. Water nice and warm for shower although very dated it worked well. Nice patio areas outside and illuminated light by the entrance pretty and welcoming
Disliked: Hotel very dated and aged but for the price we paid we couldn't grumble, but wouldn't stop longer than afew nights.....room was clean, but no main light in room, one of the plug sockets didn't work, aerial cable stretched and frayed, every 15 minutes all night there was the sound like a cistern filling after you flush a toilet, which if I hadn't of been shattered would of kept me awake....we did get up at 6 though as once awake it stopped us getting back to sleep....luckily we were only in the room from 10.30pm ....carpets and furniture all seen better days, and damp on wall, but like I've said for a one off to just use as a Base for a few days it's perfectly adequate....didn't eat there so couldn't comment on the food/bar. We knew from reviews what to expect so met our expectations, even though we hadn't anticipated much more than what we got
