Disappointment after decades coming here.

Liked: My family and I have been going here for years, the location and facilities are very good. Great for a family with young kids.
Disliked: I had many issues this trip from during check in they made me wait an hour for a 4th floor room just to tell me they weren't cleaning any 4th floor and gave me a 3rd when I could have had it an hour earlier because 3rd floor room were done for nearly an hour. Then our A/C wasn't working but we didn't complain was just going to open the door since it was cool at night. Well we were gone all day and came back at midnight when we walked into our room there was a portable heater/Air conditioner and our balcony door was duct taped shut with cardboard. (By the way we had our DO NOT DISTURB SIGN UP, so they should have never went into our room) Well they set the thing to 82° it was a sauna walking in there at midnight. The front desk lady was very nice and moved us to a different room. She told me to let the people in the morning know about what happened so I did. She was apparently a supervisor which I found out later I spoke to in the morning time. Before I was even done talking she cut me off and said okay I'll tell my manager and called the next lady up to the desk as I was still standing there. Then the next day during check out I was told for all the issues I was getting a $50 voucher to go towards our next stay. Well check out comes around and they hand me a $50 voucher for the restaurant at the carousel that expired the day after we left OC. Check out is at 11am the restaurant didn't open till 3, we made it back home before the restaurant even opened. When I told the lady we were leaving she said I can extend it till the end of May I said we won't back until July. She just looked at me and said sorry and took the voucher back. I just laughed and said it's like you guys said sorry for all the inconvenience here's a voucher you won't be able to use and expires after you check out. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

My short stay was terrible...

Liked: Absolutely nothing
Disliked: The staff was really rude none compassionate about what me and my husband was saying to them about the room how we was not happy and it was a Hazard environment for anyone to sleep in that room 521 it should be a storage space

We had a phenomenal time...

Liked: My favorite thing that I did with my fiancée was ice skating and having the beach access be so close.

Stay here every year

Liked: The staff, the view, the food.
Disliked: Slightly unclear the type of room I was booking. Requested a specific type of room when booking and when I arrived i was told that I can't do that. Would have been nice to have been notified before hand when booking to get this handled. The bathtub needs replaced.

Disliked: Ice rink was closed room did not have ac it was early in the season but only reason we booked was the ice rink and they would not refund us, we did not even stay or check in because of ice rink but charged anyway

Loads of fun for a...

Liked: the location is perfect away from the craziness at the boardwalk but still close enough to take the bus or drive to the boardwalk for shopping. The ice-skating rink was the biggest plus, the man working there was excellent and helped my granddaughter who never skated before, get her skates nice and tight and his son who was skating at the time took time out to show her some pointers for beginners. The room was clean, the front staff was helpful, there was plenty of place to park. The arcade was big hit with my six-year-old granddaughter.
Disliked: No air conditioning in the oceanfront rooms. From what I was told by the front desk, during the transition from spring to summer the air conditioner unit on the ocean front rooms does not operate. If you turn the air on you will get hot air blowing, so the room was very hot when we first checked in, but the staff brought us two box fans to help cool things down. This may have been because we traveled at the end of April, but the restaurant, snack bar area and gift shop had very limited hours. The gift shop from what I understand is not owned by the hotel, but I have to comment that the lady running the gift shop is extremely rude. For example, I went in about thrity min after they opened, and she asked what I was looking for and I told her I was just browsing, her response to me "well we close at noon" (this was at 9:00 am). then when i went out to the front of the store where she had items displayed outside of the store, she followed me everywhere. When I told her "dont worry I am not stealing anything", she rudely responded by saying "I have to watch you". You would think she would have been happy to have a customer since the place was dead the whole time we stayed at the hotel, but I would recommend that you not spend your money there and go across the street where there are many more shops with way more selection and much lower prices.
