Liked: Pretty courtyard… seemed clean inside
Disliked: Strong light outside the door and car lights shine into back window… need blackout window treatments

Liked: This hotel had everything you could possibly need, including beach towels, umbrellas, and beach chairs. The location was incredible.
Disliked: A little outdated but very charming

Liked: Such a cute, clean, comfortable room and Judy is so sweet and accommodating! Great location and so close to the beach! Judy has beach chairs, umbrellas, towels for the beach. The Carousel is a hidden gem! Definitely look forward to staying here again!

A dated, but convenient small...

Liked: The best part is that this Carousel Motel was very close to the beach. Our Double Room #2 was very small. The Mini fridge worked, but there was no door on the ice section, so we couldn’t get ice. However being a creative soul, I used a bendable plastic cutting board, that was in the cabinet to block out the air. That actually worked! However, only one very tiny ice cube tray was available. There’s a full bath tub and all towels are supplied. No house keeping tho. We had to put our dirty towels outside to get replaced. Not a big deal, but it downsized my opinions. I would have liked my bed made and trash emptied and a small personal fan. (Oddly, the ceiling fan didn’t seem to reach us. I even tried reversing the spinning direction.)We stayed 5 nights. I have to say the small double bed was not very comfortable. It’s probably fine for one person, but definitely not suitable for an older couple. There is a cute grassed seating area for all guests to use. There are a couple of tables with umbrellas, chairs & lounge chairs. The owner/hostess Judy from Czech Republic is nice and was available periodically throughout our stay. We didn’t have to call upon her, but she leaves her phone number if you need her. FYI, The available beach chairs are usable, but not too desirable.
Disliked: The very small uncomfortable double bed, the stretched out sheets, the shabby but useful beach gear, no room service, the closeness to busy street makes it noisy at night. (The AC helps with that tho.) And They don’t recycle, which really baffled me!

Superb

Liked: Very close to the beach. It was very easy to open the room door. No fumbling for a key or a card. Quiet. Good location for restaurants and half way between Clearwater and de Soto. Clean!! And twin beds which are hard to find for two people traveling as friends.
Disliked: I wish there was more shelving in the bathroom. Space was limited for two solo women.
