Disappointing

Liked: This place has the makings of a great spot to stay. It has been painted, has nice shutters, is in a great location and in a lovely old house. But, it needs better management and maintenance.
Disliked: I booked for 3 as I was travelling with my adult son and there were no twin beds available. So, 2 people in a double bed plus sofa bed room. That was a poor description. It was a double bedroom, with a single sofa, not made up, that was up against the double bed, no room to move and was unable to be put out as a bed. Major discrepancy between advertised and reality. 2ndly, bed lights didn't work, floor was sandy or gritty and bathroom window required some privacy shade from the street. Actual bedding was pretty awful: very old dirty pillows with poor linen covers. No aircon was OK for our stay but Sydney can be very humid. Not comparable to good hostels. All of these minor issues could have been addressed. If the sofa bed hadn't been scrunched into the room and the issues addressed, I would have said 4 stars for value, location and amenities. Greed on behalf of management or owners turned it into a very disappointing stay.

Liked: It was an excellent lodge. our room was mostly seperate and was very private. Clean bright and comfortable. Coffee voucher for local cafe great.

Great location, great room

Liked: Great location, newly renovated with all the comforts of home. The sheets on the bed were amazing and pillows perfection. Would highly recommend to all couples.
Disliked: Entrance was flooded due to lots of rain the day we arrived. Our shoes got soaked but luckily we could carry our bags over it.
