Bad

Even if you're only staying...

Liked: Staff was super friendly, room was appropiately large considering the price. Location very close to public transport and a Supermarket.
Disliked: The floor in the room was partially bloated and when I arrived there was a small puddle of fluid (water?). The bathroom door looked as if somone had tried to punch a hole through it. One of the three bulbs in the main light was just missing. Sheets had little holes in them. Rooms were not allowed visitors, but nobody told that to the silverfish in the bathroom. Alleged smokers' area was basically the streetwalk in front of the hotel (No extra ashtray, so you have to look for a garbage can if you don't want to throw your stubs on the street). Breakfast very minimally, not worth the extra payment. No safe in the room, If you want your valuables to be "safe" you need to deposit them at the reception. Also the surrounding area is very dirty and there are almost always some shady people hanging around (maybe because to the closeness to the railway station) - personally I felt rather uncomfortable around those parts of the city.

Just surviving

Liked: Though it’s close to the HBF, the street is filled with drunks.
Disliked: Lift is too narrow. Poor internet. No cleanliness.

OK, would probably avoid if...

Liked: The location (for what I needed to do) was great, I liked the secure, underground parking and the staff were unfailingly helpful. The beds were comfortable and the overall presentation of the room was fine - clean and tidy (though see note in "didn't likes" re bathroom.
Disliked: The reason I marked it down on location, although it was within 1km of the City entrance of the Messe (where I was working), was because the bar / club around the corner was playing VERY loud dance music until around 0400 the first night I stayed and 0630 the second. In the absence of air-con it was necessary to sleep with the windows open so even the small amount of soundproofing they'd have provided, was denied me.No air con when daytime temps were 30 deg C plus (and night time, not much cooler) definitely a minus.Bathroom probably needed a more thorough clean - the last guest's bath towel was still on the rail when I arrived which made me wonder about the standard of the other cleaning ...

Liked: The staff was amazing and the towels super soft. Bonus there was a fan in the room

Liked: The staff is very friendly; I wish the room quality were better.
Disliked: The room that I stayed in was very outdated. At a similar price, I could get a better room around that area.
