Lovely hotel with very friendly...
Liked: Charming and in a good location.
Disliked: The dinner menu, we found it difficult to find anything on it to suit our needs. We have no special needs other than normal fine dining. The meal we did choose was cooked well so no problem with the quality. We went to the Pub down the road to eat on our second night.

Liked: rooms nice, nice staff
Disliked: not enough sun beds/chairs at the spa, a lot of people having to turn up and just out stuff on floor.

Is this heaven or is...
Liked: We came to Cary’s Manor to celebrate our wedding anniversary, granted we booked a cheaper room but upon arrival it was apparent this wasn’t the one pictured in the booking. However it was pleasant enough, despite only a standard sized double bed and we remarked on how warm it was, as if they had turned the heating on especially for us (little did we know!). Arriving too late to use the Spa, we ventured to the bar and treated ourselves to an expensive cocktail. Then followed dinner at the on site Thai restaurant, a delightful experience with heavenly cuisine. It seemed like the night was going so well…
Disliked: Returning to our room, it was now approaching the temperature of satan’s armpit, despite no radiator or towel rail being on. I couldn’t find a remote for the AC unit or anyway to turn it on so in desperation opened the window to try and cool things off for bed time. Went to bed practically naked and it still felt like a midsummer heatwave… then the real fun started (and not what you think!). A small army of mosquitoes had entered the room and proceeded to terrorise my wife and I. 6 kills and 2 bites in we closed the windows but the temperature became unbearable, so at 2:30am we called reception to complain and they kindly upgraded us to another room with a king size bed and central air. It took us a long time to settle so we slept in and missed the opportunity to use the spa, which was half the reason we came. Explaining the awful night on check out we were kindly let off our drinks bill which came to an eye-watering £40 (watch out for the sneaky service charge)… “See you next time sir” doubtful at this stage! I had fed all this back in a follow up questionnaire but two weeks later, I have had no response. As we’re local I was kind of expecting to be offered a voucher for a spa day or something to make up for a ruined stay. The nutshell … avoid room 6(or 666?) at all costs, it seems as if the main heating pipes are routed under the floor and the flat roof outside the window is a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
